GTA 4 is an alright game that was highly overrated. Think about all the stuff it did wrong and how high the scores were. Thinking back on it, has a game come out since that is better than GTA 4?

People get to play some amazing shit if GTA4 is a bad game. It was definitely not as good as the reviews made it out to be, but this revisionist history is getting old.

I'd never say GTA 4 is a bad game, but I sure found it a pain to shoot anything. I love pretty much everything surrounding the shooting, but the shooting itself ruined a lot of missions for me.

Don't know if I want to watch this, I'm tempted, but I really want to go into the game clean/without knowing a lot about it.

Can't wait for the PC version, and hoping the steering stays like the patched GTA4 rather than the busted ass GTA3 style despite being 'snappier'.

He is right though. GTA4 strayed from the fun formula while at the same time taking out core elements such as real estate or body shops. To each his own of course but I personally didn't care for the driving physics most of all. Some say they liked the more realistic feel, but if I wanted a realistic driving experience I'd play Dirt or Forza. In GTA games I'm used to handbraking around corners at 100mph in a smooth controlled slide. The story was too serious and meandered about too much to the point of completely losing any focus it may have originally set in motion.

These are all my opinions of course, but I'm sure people who disliked GTA4 aren't in some niche minority out there. I still think that Vice City had the best story where you felt like Tommy Vercetti was doing a majority of the missions for his own benefit rather than because someone was simply telling him to do them. San Andreas suffered the most in that respect as Carl Johnson kept doing favor after favor with no real prerogative - not to mention the entire segment with OG Loc.

Does this seem sped up to anyone else?

Agreed. But I was really more annoyed that this person probably sat there waiting for this video to post, just to make that comment. I know trolls shouldn't bug me, but they do. If he'd at least said, "GTA 4 was disappointing to me, hopefully the new game is more my speed", that'd be SOMETHING.
But this. This banal bullshit -- not good and thought out enough to start a conversation; not bad and insulting enough to even be interesting. Just a waste of text and space.
Couple that with the first 5 comments of every GB video still being "woo" or "first" or "yah" when quests have been gone for months...

ahh christ I was kind of looking forward to this but now I'm so excited. I didn't really care that much for GTA4, thought it was good but the story didn't really do anything for me. fortunately this story sounds super interesting and the way the gameplay seems to be handling it is really exciting

I have always gotten bored before completing a GTA game up until this point, and so had little interest in this game. But man, between these trailers and talks, I am getting kind of pumped for this.

Yup still excited about this. I do hope they make more and better side missions/activities this time around though.

By the by, I'll spoiler this just in case, but concerning the story and how it'll progress involving the three characters, Rockstar have actually stated that one of the three main characters will become the antagonist, but will still be playable.

He's not right, because he didn't say ANY OF THIS. Like all trolls, he just blurted something out to get a rise. Hell, I'm probably most annoyed that it's working on me.

But regarding the quality of GTA4: If these are your reasonings for not liking a game, that's fine and I can respect that, though ultimately my opinion differs. I could care less if someone doesn't like the thing what I like (or vice versa), so long as they're prepared to back it up and contribute something to the overall discussion.

And frankly, this isn't the place for that anyway. Like when someone gives a product on Amazon a low rating because the shipping took too long... wtf?

This is for GTA5. It's reasonable to assume that people watching this video are looking forward to it and want to discuss the content, not the previous game.

I wish the masks in GTA V have effects like they do in Hotline Miami.

Well I admit GTA 4 wasn't as fun as the other GTA's its the only one I beat the story of 5 times.

Playing GTA 4 on PC with a trainer is one of the most hilarious and awesome gaming experiences there is. I will probably be buying a ps3 copy and a PC copy of this game.

The game looks amazing but I'm still going to hold reservation on it. I completed GTA IV but it took some going. The biggest knock I can give against GTA IV is that it just didn't play very well. Cars just weren't fun to drive, running and movement feels clumsy, the melee was just awful (especially coming from Bully) and you were just given the same missions over and over.

It looks like Rockstar are addressing these issues but that still remains to be seen. The press absolutely loved GTA IV and it was a game that I felt like I had to complete. I did however have a blast a few times just dicking around in the multiplayer with my friends and a lot of that feeling is what was missing from the main game.

The story/characters stuff sounds like GTA IV plus DLC without the switching on the fly part. I really liked that idea in IV.

I really hope these get day and date PC releases. I used to get completly absorbed in San Andreas and Vice City; the PC monitor is much more immersive than sitting 6 feet from your TV. I also really liked the GTA IV DLC, as those really seemed to get back to the Vice City and San Andreas formula.

My money would probably be on Franklin anywhoo; perhaps he plans to fuck over Michael and Trevor to get himself locked in the big leagues, but will eventually die by tragically sacrificing himself after learning the error of the his ways ect. ect. Then for the end game his dog takes over as your third character.

Even though it's all out there, I still think I should spoiler anywhoo just in case, because like you said, it's bloody nuts.

I´m having such a horrible time with the GB player as of late, it stops all the time. Plays again but only for a short time, then stops again. Pissing me off.

It sounds like there's a lot of options allowing you to play the role you want, which I hope means I can avoid the motorcycle missions as much as possible (but probably not).

I actually loved the driving in GTA IV. It felt weighty, and grounded, like the cars were heavy and could do serious damage. My first reaction to the driving was negative, but after just an hour or so, I really started to enjoy it.

I hope they don't make the driving overall more arcade-y like in Saint's Row or Sleepy Dawgz. That certainly has its place and is good, but I'd like to keep GTA a liiiittle closer to the realism side of handling.
