Yep, I'd Play This Cyberpunk Bartending Simulator

Hm. I checked out the free prologue after looking at this trailer. Despite thinking I'd like it, I found it unexpectedly boring. Mainly the gameplay seemed super thin. There's no Cook, Serve, Delicious! style time management, minigames, or anything like that; you literally just drag and drop 2 of A and 3 of B into the cup, taking as much time as you like, according to the prominently displayed recipe.

In the parts where you might be able to branch, the game is very obvious about what you should do ("this guy looks tough, maybe he would like more Bronson extract"), while simultaneously being frustratingly unclear about what that means (how many more units of Bronson extract? 2? 3?). As a result, I gave up playing before I was able to see any interesting branching.

The dialogue wasn't really enough to hold the game up either; each character only had a few random, barely-related stories, some of which were mildly amusing but none of which really caught my attention. I would have liked to at least been able to talk to the characters, you know, give some response other than "HERE IS YOUR DRINK AS ORDERED" or "HA HA HERE IS A CUP OF NOTHING LOL".

I have no prejudice against anime or visual novels, and the art and music seem quite good; but as far as I can tell, this is barely a game.

Can anyone who's purchased the current version comment on whether that seems to be any more compelling?

Well, I'd say many rap songs do pretty creative things with samples, creating something new and interesting using samples from something else. But in this case, yeah, the MF Doom thing is just a part of The Deele's "Shoot 'Em Up Movies" looped without any major changes.

Being a cyberpunk bartender sounds like something I'd be more then happy to spend a day doing

The soundtrack is a tribute to classic sci-fi anime, PS1 games, etc etc. It's purpose is to capture previous musical efforts from days past, stop complaining about it sounding like something that already exists.

@alexandersheen: Was there even a hint of sarcasm in your answer? Because if not that's kinda sad. Also weird standards. I don't really care for internet lingo of any kind, whether it's "smh", "waifu" or even "the internets", but I wouldn't let that little deter me from an otherwise intersting looking game that I can try for free.

And I'm pretty sure your user pic is an anime character? I'm not sure I understand.

What a brilliant idea to suggest that someone else has ripped of a rap song which prominently uses samples from other songs(like most rap song do throughout history).

Normal people don't associate themselves with creepy anime bullshit, even if it's just a URL. I have standards as a civilized human being, you know.

Man, people have the dumbest reasons not to buy a game. "I don't like the URL". "The music in the trailer sounds too similar to an existing song".

Why not just try the FREE game jam version that takes about 10-15 minutes to play through once (there's some replayability and alternate paths though) or listen to the soundtrack on bandcamp?

Played the prototype and loved every minute of it. Preordered immediately!
