You Know What Resident Evil 6 Needs? Snowmobiles

Man... this kinda looks like garbage. Is it just me or does the camera seem really jerky and disorienting? Maybe it's better when you're in control of the game, but damn. Also, the design of the enemies with the weird claw-head thing just looks really lame and it just looks strange with how many bullets you can take without even reacting.

I liked RE5 just fine, but I'm not so sure about this.

@Pr1mus: Well actually Ada Wong and her shady allegiances have always been up in the air, and alongside Wesker she's been the one notable story thread left unresolved. It'd have been fitting to have them switched around mind you--Ada's story for RE5 then Wesker for RE6--given Wesker clearly takes precedent, but otherwise RE6 still has a few questions left to answer from the old narrative.

Plus there's Sherry, who's kind of an anomaly after disappearing from RE2 (and being taken under Wesker's 'care' for so many years), so I'm interested to hear just what happened there. With Ada done, I'd like to think CAPCOM would finally be finished with this current canon and would indulge in a complete reboot. Besides the idea that Barry, Rebecca, Carlos and Billy all start their own B.O.W. bustin' agency, I can't think of a reason as to how they could carry forth this era of Resident Evil.

Given the overall negative feedback towards RE6 at that, who knows if it even will carry on? If not for a good long while anyway until the dusts settled. It's going to sell well, because it's RE, but they've got a lot riding on this so it's going to be interesting seeing how close it can match their high expectations.

I was like that (the part about following the story) up until 5. After 4 the story was pretty much resolved save for one thing, Wesker. Every new character in 5, Tricell, locations etc, have been really well integrated in the story with the older games sure but before playing it you didn't know about any of that stuff and the story didn't feel any less complete for it, save for Wesker.

Now Wesker is done, Umbrella is done, Tricell is done. Everything important has been wrapped up and its entirely possible to leave it at that. Whatever they come up with in 6 and how they integrate it in the greater RE storyline doesn't matter because it'll be all new and if you don't know about it you won't feel like the story is incomplete if you stop after RE5 unlike stopping after 4 where you'd still want to see closure about Wesker.

Anyway that's how i see it. Hope it turns out great for you so it's not just another waste like Operation Racoon City!

No Zombies chasing them on motorbikes of their own? PASS.

This looks like a complete cluster fuck. What the hell is even going on in this fight? It's like they tried to add COD to the cabin scene from RE4 but didn't understand what made those two things work.

I think Capcom wanted to shake up the RE formula back when RE4 came out. For some people it was the right move; not so much for me personally. They've continued on this misguided idea that the series needs to be more like a 3rd-person CoD with each entry into the series. But what do I care, Capcom left fans of RE like myself behind years ago.

I appreciate that they're showing off raw gameplay footage even if it looks kinda janky. Never played RE5 but from the footage I've seen of that it looked way better than this? I don't know.

So far the only reason I'll buy resident evil 6 is the Leon campaign everything else I've seen especially this looks very meh

Also, RE has finally jumped on that shark that was in the underground facility under the mansion the whole time. (I know, I know ... but you have to look at it from where they started. You can't start ON the shark's back, although that's technically what they did)

Looks like RE5, but fucking crazy. I loved RE5. Perhaps it will be good.

You were actually right regarding the voice acting, they deliver the lines very well! Did not think that would be the case! Best in the series for sure! (although I am not excited about the gameplay yet)

Shit looks dumb man, Resident Evil just isnt the same anymore. It's hot garbage now.

The first trailer had me pumped for Resident Evil 6. Every subsequent trailer released has made me more and more wary about the game. It just looks so...bad. Not terrible by any means, but not at all what I want from a Resident Evil game. At least this video had a German suplex in it, I guess.

It's like they're actively trying to push me away from Resident Evil. I actually liked all of the numbers entrees a lot, even 5, but I have seen NOTHING about RE6 that makes me even remotely excited about it.

Tank controls + Slow Zombies + Aiming up with shotgun to blow 4 heads at the same time = Great success.

I hate everything i've seen of this game so far and i really liked RE4 at the time and didn't actively dislike RE5 (i do now) at first either.

Honestly with the greater number of enemies, their speed (compared to the PS1 games), the camera being so close that you literally see nothing coming behind you and to the left of the characters, the number of bullets/hits it takes to kill enemies and even with the ability to move and shoot at the same time now they managed to make the gameplay look even more restrictive and clunky than in the PS1 era games.

I've never understood the appeal of these games. To be honest never even considered trying one. Sometimes the women look kind of hot, all I really understand besides there's virus monsters of some sort.

I concur. I mean snowmobiles? Jeezus. But it looked pretty fun actually. I get that there are people who miss the old Resident Evil... but honestly, I've enjoyed all the the numbered games since the first one. This look awesome... except the camera. That shit needs fixing.

I was all ready to be cynical about this, but I think this is one of the best bits of RE6 footage I've seen in a while. All of the recent demo stuff seemed bad or off somehow, but the cabin setting in this trailer reminded me a lot of the tenser moments in 4 and 5.

I have enjoyed this generation's Resident Evil games, but this...looks...terrible.

As much as I loved RE5, and as much as I'm looking forward to this one, it worries me that they can't even get the camera to behave for a 4 minute demo video.

As a side note, IGN has some extended cam footage if this same demo, showing the cutscene before, showing a conversation between Sherry and Jake where she's discussing some of her past(RE2). The surprising thing? The best acted scene I've seen in the entire series. And I don't mean that sarcastically. It's actually legitimately good, with a nice, natural, believable exchange. Sherry in particular has a nice tone to her voice that just makes the whole scene click tremendously. If the whole game has delivery closer to that, it could easily be the best delivered RE story. Very curious to see how it turns out.

@CircleOfLife: Capcom has said that horror games aren't making money and the shooters or fighters are the why too go now.

Bring me the inventory tetris.

They can let you move and shoot, but fundamentally, it seems clear that Capcom has not figured out a better way to add tension to an action scene than to have you fight your character to do what you want.

I feel like I've started my own ban on watching RE6 trailers for fear of having the whole damn game spoiled. Although, my excitement for the game has been waning over the past few months. I think I'll end up waiting for the game to come down in price a bit before picking it up.

Hardly resembles Resident Evil at this point.

Well, first and foremost, LOOK at it. It looks far from finished. Resident Evil 5 was pretty good in my opinion, and I am entitled to that opinion. This game looks just downright gritty. Look at Jake when riding that snowmobile for example. That could be taken from a freaking PS1 game.

It has completely lost its horror feel, this is no longer a frightening game. I wish sales would crash for this game so that CAPCOM understands that this is NOT what the Resident Evil fans want. But... why would they care? They don't care about fans. They care about sales. So cut down the sales massively for this game. Don't buy it. Make them understand that what we want, is not a fucking copy of Call Of Duty. We want a copy of a Resident Evil game. A FINISHED Resident Evil game that actually is scary to play.
