" Yup, that looks like Tekken.  I've played enough DOA4 to know what a good 3D fighting game should be.  I like the Tekken series, but it's too much button mashing. "
Wait, are you saying that DOA4 is a good 3D fighting game?  And that compared to DOA4, Tekken is button-mashy?  "
DOA4 is a great 3D fighting game.  Tekken is very combo based.  Just look at the video and watch the juggle.  DOA4 puts a large emphasis on counters and defensive fighting.  Tekken has a great nostalgic feeling for me, seeming as it's the first 3D fighter I've played.  However, the fighting mechanics have barely changed and feel quite dated.  This is not to take away from the Tekken series, as it is still fast paced fun.  It's the same argument I make for Fire Pro Wrestling series over the WWE Smackdown vs. Raw series "
I guess your right.  It's just a difference in fighting systems.  To me, the counter system in DOA feels button-mashy, and the emphasis on giant, shiny boobs is also a turnoff.  Maybe I just never played the DOA games long enough to discover any kind of deeper fighting systems, but it almost seems like the developers design goal was "push buttuns until you see panties and bouncing breasts."

But I can see how Tekken's fighting system could be a turnoff as well.  So I think we'll have to agree to disagree.

you know how online geeks when playin Tekken do that jittery thing where they move their fighter back n fourth really fast the whole time and wait for you to do somethin, makin their character look like a Meth freak that just drank a cup of Crack with Red Bull and Coffee in it? they should make the AI in single player do that too. that'd be sweet.

AH Tekken you bring back such nostalgic memories of the 2 and 3 on Play Station, it's a shame that you're now totally impossible to get into unless you're hugely into fighting games (which if you look at my meagre SFIV acheivements you will realise I am not)

@Duckbutter:  Lol..  That's when people use either dash cancelling or wave dashing, and it's tricks like these that makes high level Tekken play more interesting than any other 3d fighter.  I think I'd freak out if the AI started doing it.  And the real hardcore Tekken geeks still go to arcades rather than play online.
