Posted by TooWalrus

I still haven't finished Phantom Hourglass.

Posted by JJOR64

I think this game is going to be awesome.  Can't wait!

Posted by Grimjim8000

errm what? zelda with trains now? boats i understand but trains makes no sense... this is madness

Posted by addictedtopinescent

Well Zelda is awesome, but the REAL question is where does this fit in the Zelda timeline ?

Looks good.
Posted by bjorno

looks better than TP.

Posted by Doobit

Oh, I get it, it has trains in it and you said "Choo-choo"... hehehehehehehe

Posted by Coltonio7

Trains, meh. My dad likes train. I like boats.

Posted by Annev0

Yeah Zelda games are awesome but i dont know about this one....

Posted by MeatSim

If the train is gonna talk like the boat did the train better be Thomas the Tank Engine.

Posted by Relys

As long as the trains are used as much as the boat was used in PH it will be fine.

PH was awesome.

I haven't finished Phantom Hourglass either (that infamous dungeon you return to over and over got incredibly dull and difficult very quickly), so I don't know if this was something resolved at the end of that game, but...

Phantom Hourglass and, presumably, this game, take place in the Wind Waker timeline, where all of Hyrule is flooded. Why, then, do there appear to be vast amounts of open land in this game? I know that as a Zelda game, nothing necessarily needs to be connected, but Phantom Hourglass was a direct continuation of the Wind Waker plotline (in a somewhat contrived way), and this princess Zelda looks the same as Tetra from the other two games.

I think he actually DOES have a conductor's hat on in this video.  Little after the 1:30 mark.

If this train takes you to Clarksville then I'm all for it :)

soul train

Posted by Milkman

Damnit, I'm still a sucker for Zelda games.

Posted by redskineer

that's pretty awesome!  I'm probably gonna have to fork over for a DS soon.

This makes sense. The boat in P H was steam powered. A steam powered train would be a natural evolution of that technology. Logically, then, Link will get a rifle or musket as an item in the next game or two. A few more games and Link will be able to drive cars and shoot with pistols and automatic weapons.

Of course, by this time, Hyrule City would certainly have a seedy underbelly, complete with drugs and prostitutes. And, of course, the cost of items would skyrocket due to inflation, so Link would probably have to sell drugs (or at least shuffle them from location to location in hopes of turning a profit) and steal cars in order to have enough rupees for guns and a safe-house for his b**** Tetra. I think this could work on the DS.

Don't need money... Don't need fame... Don't need no credit cards to ride this train...

As much as I love Zelda games, they really are just the same formula made over and over at this point. Sure there's some surface changes and tweaks but I just can't get excited for this. Maybe it's a bad trailer, maybe it's because i felt like I was going through the motions in Phantom Hourglass. But Nintendo really needs to step their Zelda game up now to hold my interest, and this doesn't look like the title to do it.

Edited by License_To_Bill

I was totally on board. Then they showed Zelda. I don't know why, but I fucking don't want Zelda in my Zelda game. All the implications just make me so damned angry at Nintendo. Ganon? Triforce? You bet!

I sort of wish this franchise had grown up with me instead of staying for the kids...

I'm sure to get it

When will Link be a man, and not be a boy for all time.

Posted by EsN_Fish

Haven't finished Phantom Hourglass, but I may just have to go finish it before I get this one. I love the train idea and want to know what's behind the link being a messenger boy or something. And I'm totally digging the western themed zelda music ^.^

Posted by Southgrove

That music sort of reminds me of Battlefield 2.... I'm back in Kubra Dam all over again.

Looks cool, only thing I saw that I don't like is when the two screens act as one, they act as though they are a single solid screen, instead of recognizing the space between them.

Posted by Linkyshinks

It looks great. The more handheld Zelda the better as far as I'm concerned.

A new cel shaded game is due for Wii also.

Posted by Ally264

Looks very similar to Phantom Hourglass but that can't be bad, think i'll look into getting it.

Posted by ahoodedfigure

They captured the Wind-Waker feel pretty well.  But now all I want is another Wind-Waker style game on the bigger screen.

Posted by Subject2Change

Can't wait!

Posted by JediAutobot

Well, looks like they have my money.

Posted by LordAndrew

Remember when trains used to be cool? Yeah, those were the days.

Posted by Marzy

I'm in love with the music mostly, I can't stop listening to it and singing it in my head.

Posted by VWGTI

I'd be lying to myself if I said I wouldn't buy this game when it's released. You KNOW it'll have charm you can't resist!

Posted by Destroyeron

eh, never into zelda.

Posted by DeadMonkeys

What the fuuuuuck...

Posted by RHCPfan24

Ummmmm...................? I know that I am going to buy it when it arrives but it just looks....interesting. There is nothing new from PH besides...trains. Trains? I am sure they will make it good because there hasn't been a bad Zelda game, like, ever (get your CD-i crap out of here).

Posted by BiggerBomb

That looks kinda...bad.

Posted by lildiesel

Oh god! This is just more sailing, isn't it?

Posted by TechnicallyProficient

Just make Zelda into a dating sim already.

Link is backkkkkkk to kick some ass!!!!!......the music is mesmerizing ....cant stop watching this.....aaaaa....i need this game nowwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Dan_CiTi

Wow that actually looked like fun.

Posted by Insectecutor

Now this is crossing the line.

Posted by MasturbatingBear

This game looks awesome.

I loved, loved, loved Phantom Hourglass. I hope they do the same thing with a massive dungeon that you revisit with multiple ways to get through earlier levels once you get new items, that was really cool.

I kind of miss the overworld though. What happend to Zelda games with overworlds you got to really explore? In Wind Waker / Phantom Hourglass it's all sea, which was okay but just not the same. Twilight Princess' was more like a series of connected paths than a true open space. And now we get train tracks... Doesn't get much more linear than that. You have to go all the way back to the gameboy Zelda games for a good nonlinear overworld area. And Ocarina of course, Hyrule Field FTW. I'm probably just nostalgic for Zelda 1 where you could do crazy stuff like grab a bunch of heart containers in the overworld to get the White and Master (err... Magical) Swords really early in the game, sequence break the dungeons, spend entire days of your precious childhood burning every tree with the blue candle, etc.

Posted by LordAndrew

So... I can't remember who said it, but I think it bears repeating. That Zelda, she looks like Tetra. But if she is Tetra and this is a continuation of the Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass story, where's the sea? There was a brief shot of some water but that's about it.

Posted by mariomaster12

probably going to get the game when it comes out graphics look the same as in Phantom of the Hourglass.

Posted by Coleslaw893

I'm still confused as to why there are TRAINS in a Zelda game, as far as I know that technology doesn't exist. Unless their starting to move the franchise into more futuristic settings...
