    War of the Monsters

Game » consists of 4 releases. Released Jan 14, 2003

War of the Monsters is a 3D fighting game styled after old-school 'creature feature' films of the '50s and '60s, with a variety of playable characters inspired by movie monsters from that era.

This game's totally coming out as a PS2 classic tomorrow.

    Memories!

If I'm not mistaken, Jaffe had a hand in the development of this classic. This is probably the most this game's been talked about in the past decade. A sequel would be a shot in the dark at this point but this re-release has me thinkin' otherwise.

So much fun; an entire city as your arena as you duke it out against a similarly sized brute - and that's just one map.

Oh and GTA III will be making its way onto the service tomorrow, as well.

GTA III has apparently been delayed. Never had the chance to play War of the Monsters but I heard great things about it way back when. I'm a little curious though if there's a way to use my save for my downloaded copy of Twisted Metal Black (that I got with the pre-order of the new TM) to unlock that Sweet Tooth skin.

I see one monster that looks like an alien controller from Half-Life, so that's cool. Nothing Cthulu-esque though.

spiritual successor to Rampage sounds pretty awesome to me.

@SMTDante89: if that version was a PS2 Classics thingy then i'm pretty sure it would work

The whole "PS2 Classics" line of products are so far really poor choices, hardly any games I would consider a classic.

This game was a ton of fun, especially two player. I think it was the second PS2 game I ever bought.

God Hand's there and that forever redeems the service for me.
