So is this a strictly online game? or is there a single player mode in it, like Mount and Blade.

There is 0 single player only MP.

Mount and Blade 2 has been announced and will be developed away from Paradox as the publisher as it seems the original creators a husband wife team from the middle east has fallen out with Paradox. Maybe due to War of the Roses?

So sit back and wait for Mount and Blade 2 instead.

Yeah this sucks though cause I pre bought the game on steam.... you know... like before they mentioned there would be no single player. In fact until literally the last minute their own site implied there would be some type of single player to the game in it's faq.

I'm just waiting for that. I enjoy the multiplayer somewhat in this genre but for me it's always the single player that is the draw. Hoping for a better looking and more fleshed out Mount and Blade 2. I can't find it now but there was a Turkish interview with Taleworlds that showed a bit of the game and graphically at least it did look far better.
