Task3er on the Retribution site was nice enough to explain what some of the changes will be about for the upcoming beta. For those who care .......

    A quick summary:

    • True skill being replaced with the Elo system. (Kinda like what Sup Com 2 uses)
    • Added a rest system. (Kinda like what blizzard uses for Sc2)
    • Completely redone Leader boards and stats system. ( Kinda like the profile stuff in Sc2)
    • Other small changes like custom badges for each race, favored player in match, and a few other minor tweaks.

By the looks of it, Relic took a lot of pointers from blizzard and to overhauled their metagame for the better. I think this is awesome of Relic. Even though they don't have the cash of blizzard but they are willing to look at their competitor and work towards that standard for the benefit of the fans.
Also they have a poll up for the next possible spehss mahreens chapter for the next dawn of war game or expansion. So go vote.

A lot of improvements that I like in here, I hope they do all those little things like Starcraft 2 has so you always feel like you are working towards something... it keeps me entertained :P

@Seedofpower: OK, sweet, although I love achievements, Steam support is way better.

GFWL is still in place for the other DoW2 titles because they don't want to take away our Live Achievements. I guess that's a nice gesture. But hey, this'll be a stand-alone game with an expansion pack price and Steamworks support. Can't complain.
