Ok so I recently finished all of Dawn of war 1 and its expansions.
I got DoW II (and chaos rising) with high hopes since I loved 1 so much.
Then I hope online (since there is no skirmish mode nor a tutorial) after beating the campaign and it makes no fucking sense.
IDK how to build units nor buildings. I lost within 24 seconds of playing. Why the hell is there no fucking tutorial?
Everywhere I have searched, no youtube or anything explains this game.
I am a 5 star DoW player asking for help! I wanna love this game too but cannot without any explaination of wtf is going on.
Also I play eldar and chaos.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II
Game » consists of 6 releases. Released Feb 19, 2009
The sequel to Relic's critically-acclaimed Dawn of War does away with economizing and base building in favor of a more involved combat system with RPG elements.
WTF this game makes no sense.
I only played the first one, but if you played through the campaign, the multi-player can't be that different.

its really simply man, in multiplayer there is your one building, build all your units from there, capture points for resources, you can build generators on the power nodes, and when you get enough resources you can go tier 2 grom your base no buildings required. hope this helps, also you have victory points, capture the victory points to bleed your enemies victory points away, if your points reach 0 you lose and the same goes for your enemy good luck and have fun.

ONCE...
EVER...
And then you plunk it down and have a good time for the rest of your days.
EDIT:Oh yeah, sorry. I forgot to make fun of you for playing Eldar, which is a requirement for any Ork player. Ha, space elf.
Holy shit dude. It is like you haven't been listening to anything about this game since it came out last year.
THERE IS NO BASE BUILDING
NONE
No units build other units or anything. You collect resources from points, select the unit or tier upgrade from the build section of the screen and go.
It was designed to make combat faster and promote tactics that move away from turtling in bases.
It helps... but why the fuck is the game so simple? No building? that is kinda gay. "Hmm, not very eloquent but i'll humour you.
In case you haven't noticed, RTS games tend to be taking this route more and more these days. it's all about the fast payoff. RTS games of the past require you to build up, this process could be 5 - 60 minutes before you even launch an assault.
This isn't a bad thing, but most gamers are not that patient these days, what with the greater sum of games being released, multiplayer litterally having the potential to be a timesink, further reducing the time spent playing a game.
For further information check out command and conquer 4 and similar new RTS games.
There is no base building, you only build generators which cost req and add power. They are susceptible to attack so you have to be mindful of them.
In the beginning cap points in the order of req-power-victory
Midgame cap req-victory-power
Lategame cap victory-req-power
Also try to power-harass (attack/destroy generators) when you get the chance, damaging their economy or at least threatening to is a critical part of this game. All T2 units demolish T1 units so it's kind of a race, but if you go too fast then you'll leave nothing for defense/offense and they'll cap the entire map and destroy your power gens. It's about a proper balance of defense, offense and capping. Flanking and making good use of abilities are also -extremely- important.
In terms of combat, well...there are a lot of nuances. I've played the game since beta and I still have tons to learn. It gets pretty epic once you actually get good at it though, you just need to practice. You can set up games with the computer with varying difficulties.
