Warhammer: Vermintide 2 (sometimes stylized as Warhammer: Vermintide II) is a dark fantasy co-operative first-person action game developed and published digitally by Fatshark for the PC (via Steam) on March 8, 2018. It is expected to be released for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sometime in 2018.

The sequel to the 2015 game Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide, Vermintide 2 continues the adventures of the five heroes of Ubersreik in the "End Times" of the fantasy Warhammer universe. After defeating the Grey Seer Rasknitt (the leader of the Ubersreik invasion) of the Skaven Clan Fester, the heroes end up captured by Rasknitt in the fortress city of Helmgart. While escaping, they learn of his plot to construct a massive portal (known as "the Skittergate") for the invasion of an army of Norscans known as the Rotbloods (led by Chaos Champion Bödvarr Ribspreader). With the city of Ubersriek lost, it's up to the five heroes to prevent the Warriors of Chaos from using the border-city to invade the Empire.

Along with several new types of enemies to fight (mostly from the new Chaos faction), the game features a significant number of gameplay changes, including a new class system (where each hero has special unlockable "careers" that suit their playstyle), a new levelling system (which is hero-based instead of player-based), unlockable talent trees, and revamped matchmaking, crafting, and random loot systems.

Missions

The base game includes 13 missions (not including the Prologue, which is now a single-player tutorial sequence) set in and around the city of Helmgart. Unlike the previous game, players can now progress through each of the three Acts separately (although they now must be completed sequentially).

Also unlike the previous game, there are no short "single objective" missions, and all mission have three Tomes and two Grimoires that can be carried to the end of the level for bonus experience points and increased chances for better loot boxes.

Also new to the game are special boss encounters that are exclusive to certain missions (namely the final missions of each Act).

Act I

  • Righteous Stand
  • Convocation of Decay
  • Hunger in the Dark

Act II

  • Athel Yenlui
  • The Screaming Bell
  • Fort Brachsenbrücke

Act III

  • Against the Grain
  • Empire in Flames
  • Festering Ground

Finale

Unlocked once Halescourge, Into the Nest, and The War Camp are completed.

  • The Skittergate (Bosses: Gatekeeper Naglfahr, Rasknitt)
