Well, if you look at the minimap, it was almost exactly the same as the one you could see in Assassin's Creed III. Also, the icons above everyone's heads looked like the type of thing you'd see in Assassin's Creed to mark them as vendors and such. It felt very Assassin's Creed. Like, maybe those Desmond segments in Revelation was a prelude to this, originally, and they decided, naw, fuck dat, we goin' into MEGAHYPE.@Hamz said:
Kind of what you'd imagine a modern day Assassin's Creed to be like.
Definitely a game to keep an eye on for future previews.
That's a really good way to look at it. I like the sound of that, but please no templars

Killer Showing

Already rumours going about that it's not for current platforms. Not sure about that.
There is no mention of platforms anywhere. And the rain effects, depth of field and coat physics looked super detailed. My guess is that it was running on a high end PC and is targeted for next gen.
This was the first game anyone has showed that I'm genuinely interested in.
Now I'm really curious whether this is a next gen game or not.
I'm seeing a number of people say that this is a bit of a risk on Ubisoft's part, I think it's quite brilliant. A lot of consumers, myself included, have been clamouring for a major new IP for a while now, and this is just the thing. It's already generated tons of buzz everywhere, I just hope that it's for this generation not the next. Either way, well played Ubisoft.

Interesting bit for me was at the end, a possible hint of multiplayer/coop in the game with other people trying to cover that guy's escape after the shootout?
This is also my game of show thus far. I was really getting a Deus Ex: Human Revolution vibe, and I love that since it was in my top 2 games of last year. I can't wait for Watch Dogs, but I think it's going to be for the next generation of platforms.
Apparently the press release for it didn't list any platforms. Interesting, very interesting. *says in a Russian accent*
Or, dare I take that leap into the future and suggest, that maybe it was some sort of persistent singleplayer where they work in tandem somehow? There were a lot more names there that were quite a distance away that might not have had anything to do there, so they were out doing their own thing? I have no idea, but the possibilities excite me more than even I can understand.@N7 said:

This game looks fucking awesome. I was completely drawn in while watching the demo, and I actually thought the shooting looked pretty cool as well. Impressed me more than Assassins Creed 3.
Me too. I haven't been so engrossed by anything in a really long time but this just grabbed me and wouldn't let go.
What a breath of fresh air. I haven't felt that good watching an E3 reveal in a long time. Thank you Ubisoft Montreal for creating and showing off an exciting original IP. Far and away my game of show right now.
Ok just watched to game demo again. There's no way the PS3/360 can handle that amount of detail, it has to be next gen. Right?
Very nice surprise. Great animation work and an intriguing concept/gameplay mechanic. Looking forward to it.

I'd love the idea of some sort of persistent single player with different players all doing their own thing while crossing one another's paths.

@RadixNegative2: I was thinking the exact same thing while I was watching it again, perhaps a pc exclusive?
ahahahahahahahahah
a ubisoft exclusive pc game... you're a funny guy
seriously though, I would put good money on next gen game and a 2014 release date
anybody else get a vibe of the old build of splinter cell conviction about this the one that got scrapped .
anyways it looks amazing cant wait to hear more!
Don't know if this has been posted yet, but appereanlty there's a qr code in the demo that leads to this:
Nope. Current gen.Guys, it's already been announced as a next generation title.

That traffic "accident" part really got me. Seems like they are doing some pretty interesting stuff with the perspective switches too. I am REALLY excited for this game, and just to make myself feel better, I'm gonna keep calling it ctOS.
Joystiq just reported that it's coming to 360, ps3 and PC@Totori: Will probably have downgraded current gen versions that still look good like AC3. But damn at those wind, rain, lighting and trenchcoat effects. Plus the hacking the environment looks really cool. Games like this will make me willing to jump on next gen.
Its been a very long time since a trailer which was largely voiceover and no gameplay already had me on the hype train.
And then they showed the gameplay and well they will be cleaning this mess for years to come.

unless ubisoft montreal has hired arcane wizards to cram that much detail on 7 year old hardware AND they can finish development in less than a year this game will be next gen whenever they like it or not.
btw, both are completly impossible since no one was ever able to make current gen open world look that good (also arcane wizard aren't a thing) and this is obviously a very early vertical slice.
there is no game there yet, just awesome ideas and a sweet tech demo
so it aint coming out sooner than 2014
of course, it could come out way later if it suffers what I like to call the splinter cell syndrome
we'll see

That is not evidence that it will not be on nextgen consoles.
But there's no proof it's going to be on next-gen consoles. It could obviously change at any time, but for now Ubisoft has only committed to current consoles.@Dalai said:

@Dalai: Exactly. That is merely proof of versions that will exist. It is not evidence of versions that will not exist. All I know is that there is no chance that what they showed will run on current consoles in the state they showed it.
And if it is just a really good PC lead with downgraded console ports then why all the mystery around what consoles it will be on? They would have just announced it as a 360/PS3/PC game during the show. So of course there will be nextgen versions and those release dates are in no way evidence to the contrary.
This is a singleplayer, story-driven game, guys. No persistent world that people can just drop into and potentially antagonize you in.
I think some of you are forgetting that games don't have limitless scope. When it pulled back to show several other codenames, there's really no way on Earth those were meant to be gamertags. Is anyone really going to play as "mysterious guy on the roof, who sits around for like 10 minutes doing nothing until Aidan Pierce causes a car accident and gunfight"? That's like expecting a Hitman game to let you play as one of the enemy guards and totally fuck up Agent 47's careful plan: it defeats the entire point of the game.
It seems about a million times more likely that you switch back and forth between several characters as the story progresses (some of those characters not necessarily on the same side), like Indigo Prophecy and Heavy Rain. Sure, I guess they could put in some kind of co-op feature, but most sandbox games are taxing the hardware enough without adding in the additional strain of net code/splitscreen.
Multiplayer stealth during the campaign just doesn't work, especially in a game that clearly has a fair amount of cutscenes. Multiplayer stealth barely works in Assassin's Creed multiplayer, and it's about a zillion times more fast-paced and completely story-less than this.
Anyway, setting aside your impossible multiplayer expectations, the game looks incredibly sweet, and I'm really excited for it.
