Anyone who's taken a class in biology should know that ANY plant that contains seeds inside of it is considered a fruit.

So, logically, a watermelon is a fruit (just like every other melon).

Technically speaking all flowering plants bear fruit of some form or the other. Vegetable is just a human construct to classify the edible portion of certain plants.
