After putting in Mario Galaxy (the only good looking wii game I own) I noticed the game looked much more vibrant and sharp then I remember, so I checked my TV's output signal and sure enough it says it is outputting at 1080p. After searching around online it seems like the wiiU actually does upscale if using HDMI. Just curious if anyone else has noticed this with their games, maybe I am crazy but the game looks much much nicer then I remember and its making me want to pick up some cheaper wii games I have missed out on.

Im curious about The Last Story, Kirbys Epic Yarn, and a few other Nintendo games that may really benefit from this upscaling if thats what is happening here.

Yes. While it up-scales, however, it doesn't re-render the game in that resolution, so it's not quite a hundred percent. For that, you would want to use something like Dolphin.

Yeah I tried running dolphins for wind waker and it looked astounding such a gorgeous game. Unfortunatly it only ran at about 10-15 frames on pc.

I'm still very curious if I can expect this sharpness from other wii games on the wiiu, I have always enjoy Galaxy's art style so I don't know if its just been so long since I've played it, or it really does look this much better on wiiU
