Games are coming out, the Wii U is cheaper than the competition, and Nintendo is seeing the opportunity and going for it. Do you think anything will change for the system? I know plenty of people (such as Pachter) have already stated that Nintendo will continue doing poorly with the Wii U.

The commercial is really dumb...but they're trying.

It's cheesy, but I think it's cheesy in the right way for families. Could work well.

Well if Pachter said they'll do poorly, the Wii U will become the best selling game system of all time.

I can just imagine him watching that commercial and, after the part where he makes the guitar noise and plays the lady's leg, he smirks and says to himself "Fuckin nailed it."

I'm sorry they lost me as soon as I saw that the sofa wasn't facing the TV. Who would do that?

Interesting choice of words. "Upgrade" to Wii U. I suppose that's for the folks who are confused about the Wii U being different from the Wii.

I think the Wii U will be a turnaround success.

Expect to see me quote myself in 5 years.

At my brother's house, their sofa doesn't face the TV. that's not to say that there aren't any seats in the living room that do, but their sofa does not.

i like that in the universe of this commercial is set the kids are able to render photo realistic representation of there family and the dad is baffled by the concept of pre recorded video.

i don't think the wii u will do too badly i plan on getting one on Tuesday because game have a deal on, other people will too once there game library has enough top quality titles.

I feel like it's not going to help with that confusion, people thinking it's an attachment to upgrade their Wii's rather than an entirely new device.

That commercial makes me want to see them fail, although no more than when Sony or MS do their own pandering.

hmmmmmmm, I don't know, family sharing isn't a bad idea. Considering most family gamers right now grew up on NES and want their kids to share with them.

I felt the Wii Punch Out ads did it better, with a dumb humor that really reminded me of the Zelda Rap silliness

    Loading Video...

but anyway, yeah the ad is bad.

With Windwaker HD being the only major release for the latter end of this month, the Wii U has managed to sell over 40,000 units worldwide for the week of September 28th.

Poor Wii U, the laughing stock of the industry. I wish a competent ceo and management took Nintendo over, the way things are going, we might not ever see an F-Zero or Starfox.

I still think they should have named their console anything other than Wii U. Hell, Wii 2 would have been a better choice.
