    Is this safe to do? should I take steps to clear out the homebrew stuff? I would be kind of sad to do that because my import copies of Xenoblade and Pikmin 2 won't work anymore, but I'd rather move everything over to the Wii U.

    Anybody tried it yet?

    I did the transfer and I had the HBC on my Wii. Had no problems during the transfer and the HBC is still on my Wii. I would just make sure that your HBC is updated before starting to be safe.
