It looks like the Wii U is going to be priced at $600 in Australia. It might change, but what do you guys think of this price?
Wii U

The Nintendo Wii U, the follow-up to the monstrously popular Nintendo Wii console, launched in North America on November 18th 2012.
Wii U priced in Australia.
its a place holder price, no way it launchs at 600 that is what hurt the ps3 plus it would not be encouraging.
How could they have a price if nintendo has not even shown anything since E3, plus i dont think that is the final desgin of the console it self
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... Ahem... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...
They have to be crazy if they think that a system with specs that roughly rival the 360 and PS3 would sell for that much just for a fancy screen controller.
Look at how cheap the 360 and PS3 are these days, it's not going to cost much more than those. The controller is the only thing that's going to push it up.. and Nintendo have caught on pretty well to the idea that cheap products = sales. They're not going to release a £400 system.

Maybe not in the US or UK, but the PS3 cost $1000 at launch here.
When you consider our average wage versus cost of living, we actually do ok...but it is cheaper to import where possible haha.jesus christ australians get ripped off on video games.
They were right about the 3DS at launch.dude... that isn't priced? That's just an estimate?

$1199 in NZ. I was such a fool... I only had Resistance for almost a full year!
I sincerely hope it does not launch at that in the US. They might be able to sell it to crazy people like me here at that price, but not to anyone else.

Urgh....
For all you US people complaining, that equals about $300 for you guys. since our stuff is generally double your price, even though the currency conversion isn't. Don't use currency conversion for this stuff, it doesn't work.
Yeah, there is no way it will launch anywhere near $600 in the US. Like Shiro said, around $300 seems right.
Also, check out the ultra sweet deal we get on games. First, good old EB Games:
https://ebgames.com.au/wiiu-154414-New-Super-Mario-Bros-U-Wii-U
Yes, that's $108
Ok, so lets go somewhere better:

So... $99.
This has taken me from an "interested in buying" to a "Seriously? I can't justify that".
Yeah, I am going to go with an EB guestimate. They have to put a price in to take pre-orders and they certainly don't want to come in under the price as that may cause them a world of pain. In other words, $600 is the absolute outside number.

As an Australian, that is fully $300 more than I wll ever pay for one.
I will buy in at $400 as I did with the Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360. Let's just call that the line I don't cross. Even then, I probably won't buy one until closer to Easter 2013 because games will be cheaper. I am not paying $100 a game. That is more important to me than the console price.
