When I read "mods, please sticky this thread," at first I thought you were making too much out of a simple recommendation thread, but DAMN, you really put a lot of work into this.  Very nice job.

The only suggestion I can make is Boom Blox, especially if you play multiplayer.  That game feels and plays unlike any other game I've ever played, and aside from Smash Bros, it's been the only reason I've wanted to turn on my Wii since finishing Mario Galaxy.

Its just sad that there aren't much games out there for Nintendo, only Twilight Princess, Mario Galaxy and Resident Evil 4 are the reason to buy a Wii(opinion)

Notice how almost all of the recommended games for the Wii are made by Nintendo themselves. If only the third-party developers would pay a little more attention to the little white box instead of the big one that occasionally glows red...

Just trying to see where you got the information from - on gamerankings Okami is clearly the 5th highest rated title, not Metroid Prime.

The thing about having top 5s in different genres is that you are really scraping the barrel in terms of the Wii's back catalogue. Is a 73% Dragon Ball Z game worth recommending? Have their been 5 FPS's on the Wii?

Why not just list the top 20 with comments?

Another point - gamerankings seem to inexplicably miss out some titles. Neither of the lego Wii titles are listed for example.

I'm still playing about with the thread, it's not completely finished and still needs a bit of editing. Please bare with me.

And since when was 73% a bad score? I would consider anything less than 70% to be a "bad" game.

Plus, if people can still come in here and just ask for a recommendation, they don't have to go by my list.

If you really enjoy games like Space Invaders then you should like the game. Although the game is quite hard with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. Iv heard the classic controller works better.

The trick to using the Wii remote in Geometry Wars is to be careful not to aim the remote off screen. Technically speaking, that means keeping the "sensor bar" (misnomer of the century) in view of the remote's IR receptor. If the remote can't see the sensor bar, you lose the ability to aim (which can mean a quick death when the gameplay gets frantic).

The problem I've heard about the classic controller is that the analog sticks are too close together so your thumbs collide with each other.

Anyway, I think Geometry Wars Galaxies is a great game for arcade-style game fans. I bought it at full price when it was released and I haven't regreted it.

Eh I mean a 70% must mean a game has a handful of noticable flaws. In my experience, I've bought a few games in the 70%-75% range, and I always agreed with what the editors said about it. It doesn't mean the game is bad, but usually they're the kind of games I like to rent. You've got a great list, so keep doing what you're doing man!

It's good that you have all the must have titles in your collection SSbabel, but you should still look for some of the not so popular games that catch your eye, or else you could miss out on something that you find pretty good.

What kind of genre do you prefer?

I would personally recommend "Kirby's Adventure." It's a great title with the only flaw I can think of is being too short.

    Trauma Center: Second Opinion

Trauma Center: Second Opinion is NOT a quick-and-dirty port of the DS title
    "Trauma Center: Under the Knife."
It has new graphics and animation; new surgical implements and operation
types; a second playable character with new missions; multiple difficulty
modes; and a revised control system that takes full advantage of the Wii Remote.
It's a remake with gobs of added content.
As with Under the Knife, the voice acting in Second Opinion is presented
in the operation scenes to enhance the drama and punctuate the action.

hey everyones saying such nice things about resident evil 4 for wii, but i had it for the gamecube and completed it like 6 times. Is there any significant change that transforms the game making it worthy of spending about thirty pounds on it

Well if you beat it that many times then i don't think so, there's nothing new except the new Ada mode and the awesome controls. I liked it more than the cube version though

The Wii Version contains all the bonus features found in the PS2 version that weren't included in the GameCube version.

    These include:
    • "Seperate Ways", a 5 chapter side story where you play as Ada Wong.
    • New Costume Sets.
    • A new gun
    • Movie Browser

And the obvious inclusion of the Wii's Pointer Controls and 480p/16:9 Widescreen Support.

If you are a die-hard Resident Evil fan I would recommend you pick it up.

"Anyone here played the new Alone in the Dark, right now i'm trying to choose between these:

    Alone in the dark
    Wii fit
    Geometry Wars
    Guilty Guear XX
    Manhunt 2"
I've heard some good things about Geometry Wars and Guilty Gear. Guilty Gear sort of slipped under the radar, but apparently it's pretty good.

Alone in the Dark was apparently quite poor for the Wii. Some of the controls were great but the game felt "incomplete". It's too bad because it seemed to have a lot of potential.

Keep in mind I've never played any games and this is just based off of things I've heard around the internet.

IMO The best third party game is Zack & Wiki. I recommend it to anyone looking for a solid puzzle/adventure game.

Tenkaichi 2 is better than Tenkaichi 3.  Online can be thrown out the window because it's horrible and in BT2 you don't have timing puzzles for attacks.  You just go.  Also, Wii Fit is a sport?  Really?  Everything else looks good.

I've heard from most people that they prefer BT3 over BT2, but if the demand is high enough, then I will switch them about.

As for Wii Fit, yes, it falls into the sport genre.
