My Illustrated Wii Setup

Posted by Emilio (3380 posts) -

Let me just say this: Mario Kart Wii has some really super funky awesome music and Stereo mixing.
I went to Radioshack on saturday to pick up a female/female 1/8" piece with a Stereo/1/8" male piece.

Basically what I am doing is taking the Red and White stereo audio from my Wii component cables, connecting them to a stereo/audio piece, then another audio piece, then to my cheap PC speaker (which is used to control volume and to lengthen my audio cables), and finally I hook up my booming bass headphones.

Let me just say this folks, try playing the Resident Evil remake with this set up at night. Tons of fun. :)

I'm actually more interested in the footie pajamas you're sporting.

Drawn to scale?

Hell yes.

You should get a amp for your headphones for beyond amazing sound. Also I sincerely hope that those footie pajamas actually factor in.

Haha, not really.

@clarke0:
An Amp? How so. Please explain.

@Dalai:

Why, you want  some footie pajamas?

@JeffGoldblum:
Hell yes is right!

Looks generally how I play video games late at night when I want no complaints from my family. I played all of Assassin's Creed II this way. Only I have a Sony stereo system I use in place of the computer speakers (which also has a remote - useful) and...my headphones are kinda crappy.

And in the last three years I have bought and sold a total of four Wii consoles, each one intending to keep it. Dang Nintendo! Playing with my emotions like you do...

Nice avatar.

So your 32" did not have a headphone in?  That sucks.

@MormonWarrior:
Dude, just keep one Wii! If you don't play it, put it away. Also, get yourself some new headphones! Especially the big bulky kind. They will let you hear things you thought didn't exist. :)

@demontium:
Why thank you!

@OllyOxenFree:
Yeah, my TV only does TV stuff. It only has connections for Audio/Video. No VGA/DVI or Headphone support.

I am fascinated by how square your crotch is.  Is that normal?

I connect my Wii stereo cables to a large speaker set-up with some good bass.  Nothing special, but it sounds good.  Just bought Monster Hunter Tri and that sounds awesome through it and on the 42" plasma.  Nice picture, you look happy.

@Emilio:
Just a headphone amp like this (first thing that came up on Amazon).  However, you only need one if you have very high-fidelity headphones and your speakers you run through probably already carry enough amperage for good sound.
