Because Nintendo decided short term gain was better than long term stability. I'd love to see another company make another casual product and robbing Nintendo of its install base, thereby leaving it devoid of both soft or hardcore players. And I'm not a fanboy, I got a Wii for Galaxy.

I don't see how someone with a ps3 alignment can say shit about wii. Wii has plenty of great games. A 360 owner can maybe talk shit cause as a nintendo #1 fan and microsoft #2 fan I can admit 360 has better games that Wii. But I prefer most Wii games cause I like games that are good. Sure Wii has some shitty games but how many of ones that were actually hyped truly sucked? Remember lair? Oh yeah what now bitch.

Its not like its going to be made into a wii exclusive so you get to play it but there is no reason to complain cause another system gets the game you like. Uh, I don't think the Wii is a piece of shit so much as the games that come out for it. Excluding most of the 1st party titles 3rd party is absolute garbage. Technically speaking the Wii is not that more advanced than the GC was. Nintendo marches to the beat of its own drum, however, so the fact that it is technically inferior to the 360 or PS3 doesn't faze the higher ups at Nintendo at all since, as we can all see, it's the #1 selling console this generation which is highly ironic considering it's not at all next gen. To each his own though. Personally I think they sold their soul to Satan because I've never seen a console with such a craptacular game library that continues to warrant such demand for the hardware.

I love my Wii (and DS). Might be the only console I buy this gen. Any gaming experience the 360 or PS3 offers I can get on my PC / Wii / DS combo.

I think the Wii has lots of good games, just depends on what type of gamer you are really. I like the Fire Emblem series so Radiant Dawn was an absolute buy for me, other games obviously include those that have been already said plus: Mario Kart wii is actually a pretty fun game and hey, resident evil 4 for wii wasn't so bad either. 

At the moment I think the xbox 360 has the best selection of games, the PS3 is a great console, but the only game that I'm really interested in playing is MGS4.

I think it really falls down to personal preference in the end.

I own a Wii and PS3.  I can honestly say I've not touched the Wii since at least the end of Summer '08.  I have Twilight Princess for the Cube (I don't consider it a Wii title), Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, and Rayman Raving Rabbids.  Prime was a good game, having played the previous iterations on the Cube.  It was good, but not a reason to own the system.  Galaxy was a interesting piece.  This was one where you could actually tell the difference between the graphical horsepower between the Cube and Wii.  It didn't outshine by much, but you could tell.  Galaxy was the last game I bought for the Wii.

My PS3 is getting constant use.  Besides the Blu Ray player functionality, I have about 20GBs of music on there, trailers and featuretts galore (Retrospectives shout out!) and those game things.  There is no reason not to use my PS3 for my purposes.  I've recently bought Prince of Persia, Dead Space, PixelJunk Eden, and Ico - I have the 60gb version. 

I'm actually debating whether or not to sell the Wii.  The only reason I can think of keeping it around is for the next Zelda and . . . . . I'm actually drawing a blank.  Mad World looks a bit interesting, but maybe too much of a one trick pony.

I want the Wii to be good, but it's just not catering to what I'm willing to buy.

The wii is like the nerdy bullied underdog in the teen movie that somehow becomes cool and turns into a vacuous douchebag. Hopefully Nintendo will observe the usual character arc and come to their senses some time in the third act... but I doubt it.
