Here's the link

The gameplay of the series doesn't loan itself to sitting in one place for hours. It's a game that you take with you. I'm not going to hate them if they port the existing games to the Wii, but making a new one would really get my panties in a bunch.

Because people who play it for the first time on the Wii, IMO, might get bored with the game. It works far better as a portable experience

I played the first two sitting in front of my computer for hours, if you get my meaning. I don't think it really matters what system it's on.

Trace Memory/Another Code made a fine transition to Wii. So would Phoenix Wright.

Reading FAQs, I trust?

I will be sad if it's just a straight port. :( I'm waiting for Perfect Prosecutor though.
EDIT: Excuse me, Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney Investigations...

The only way this will work well is if they take advantage and add voice acting and animation, something along those lines.

I played it on my DS in one spot for several hours. I did this with every Ace Attorney game. I only play portable games at home. I think trying to play a game like Phoenix Wright "on the go" or while you are out doing something else ruins the experience.

I will happily re-buy every single Ace Attorney game for my Wii. I hope this happens.

At first your idea excited me, but I think it's better that the characters stay mute. Everyone has their own idea of what their favorite characters sound like. More detailed animation, however, is something that I am all for

Maybe make it a little bit longer as well, but, on the whole, I agree with you.

I agree that the series seems much more suited for the DS and that there may be some downsides in bringing it to the Wi,i but this may also give a whole bunch of people who've never played the games a chance to experience them and may allow the developers to take advantage of the Wii's tech to present the game in a new way.

But they do have voices, even if you don't hear then that much.

Yeah, I don't know if these need to be portable, I know I played them at home 95% of the time (which is convenient if you get stuck, damn investigation sections).

All you ever hear them say are "Objection" and "Take That". It's little different than Link and his grunts

Well this series is basically adventure games so I can almost see it working.

The games are 10% adventure games and 90% reading dialogue with minimal interaction. Which, as AgentJ said, is fine for a portable game. Home console game, not so much.

@AgentJ:
True but they did go through the trouble of giving a voice, no matter how miniscule. Also for the japanese version they did get the voice actors (of the Objections and the take thats) to say actual lines of Dialog, even if it was for trailers or other small things.

So if they really wanted to they could take that step.

Well, maybe if they make it on the Wii, I might finally complete a Phoenix Wright game and that can only be a good thing ....... right?

I don't know. Havery Birdman: Attorney at Law worked fine on the Wii, and it's not that much of a different game. I think that Phoenix Wright would be fine on a console.

WiiWare so I guess you're safe in regards to voice acting. Probably short and episodic given the 900 points it's worth.

I read about it yesterday. Each of the games will be sold on their own for 900 points, except the fifth case of the first ds game is being sold seperately for 300.

Oh, so it's re-releases of the DS titles? For just 900 points per game? How much did they cost on DS? Or did you mean each case is 900?

Sure it worked, but who actually purchased it? I have to think the overhead for this is extremely low so they can make money off the 2-5k people who end up downloading it. Wiiware is becoming about as niche as the DS in some ways, where you can make a profit on extremely low sales.
