You can always not play online so it's just like the PSP game then... Except with split screen multiplayer on top... It also actually looks far better and while there are less weapon types total (though it's not clear, gun lances may have been combined as a type with the lances rather than removed altogether for example), all the weapons have new abilities, have been rebalanced, some are more customisable (3 piece bowguns) and there's also the slash axe which can be used in 2 different modes. Of course, all the new areas, monsters and gear alone are worth it as well. The fee isn't confirmed for the West, the Monster Hunter home console (and PC) titles have always had a fee in Japan but have been free in the West so it remains to be seen what they do with this entry. I guess newer players wouldn't be aware of that but now you are. Monster Hunter 3 is the first evolution of the series since, well, 2. The PSP games are simply down-ports of the first two PS2 games, and with the online aspect removed. 3 adds more features than any other game before it, with things like the ecosystem feel, reworked stamina, torches for dark areas, underwater mechanics. If they've removed things, it's because they broke the balance in past titles, like the dual wielding swords which were completely overpowered. It doesn't take from the game, it fixes the game, and adds a ton of new shit on top, so to act like it's worse because it has less weapon types is quite stupid. Not to mention on the Wii you finally get decent camera control (whether you use the remote+nunchuck or the classic controller) so you can rotate it at will without needing to stop controlling your character's movement as on the PSP.

As for your piracy habits, yeah, we totally believe you only do it to try the games for 15 minutes and then see if you'll buy it or delete it, never play further or complete it then decide against paying for any stupid reason like it wasn't as good as your absolute favorite game in the genre... Lol.

A good move, I think this is the perfect time for releasing a black console, now that the production issues are out of the way.

Sidenote: This probably means that Nintendo is seriously considering the next step beyond the Wii. They've always said that the sign of the end is when they start to release new colors for their consoles. Basically, that means indicators are trailing and they need a boost. New colors is the stop-gap until the new product is done with dev. Wii-HD team just got a memo.

Sigh, yeah, The Wii, with its 50 million units sold, is dieing. Nintendo is worried. They need a new system and they need it NOW. This MEGATONFORJAPAN is totally not made because it will SELL LIKE HOT CAKES, it's made to make way for WiiHD,WII2,WIII, etc >_>

"We haven't even released it in new colors yet" doesn't mean "we'll release WiiHD/2 as soon as we have Wii colors out"

Also, Reggie doesn't dictate when it happens. Every time he speaks, it's simply PR. He's been completely wrong on many occasions. It's very possibly he was unaware of the incoming black Wii (which is likely to stay Japan only) when he chose to make that statement to show it's far.

As someone who doesn't own a Wii or really care about them too much, (sorry! Just not me) that thing looks fucking great! May not make me buy one, (especially if its only in  Japan :-P) but wow! Sleek!
