Not bad looking at all really. Dimps are working on the games 2D sections and that gives me a lot of hope that this version will be good. I actually have more faith in Dimps to create a good Sonic game than I do Sonic Team quite frankly, such as things are.

Wow, severe negativity in this thread. I think the game looks great.

And Sonic Heroes looked terrible in motion.

Sure it doesn't look as good as the Xbox 360 or PS3 version, but I personally think at times it looks good. Some of the other screenshots look a bit iffy to me.

As for Sonic Heroes, I was very underwhelmed by that game. It definitely shows how bad Sonic game controls can be. The graphics were ok for the last gen though.

Doesnt look bad. Still not up there with Galaxy, but it seems Nintendo had some magic dev kit for that game which they're not giving to any 3rd parties, because nobody can match it.

Yeah, it doesn't seem like any third party will ever match Galaxy.

It has little to do with harnessing Wii's power but instead the quality of art that Galaxy displayed.

Dimps made Sonic RUSH, the best Sonic game in years. Sonic Team who are making the 360 game have not made a decent game in years.

So you know, the wii version isn't a COMPLETE port of the PS2 version. Dimps is only making the day stages on the PS2, while they're working on ALL stages on the wii version.

I just hate the realistic locations! Where are all those cool zones from past Sonic games.

Sonic: Unleashed is a nice looking game, but I just hope that Sonic Team can finally get the gameplay tune correctly this time around.

The best looking game so far Super Mario Galaxy was all in its Art style, if you actually looked up close at the textures and visuals they weren't impressive, was 100% the art that made that game looks amazing...no one but nintendo I think will ever be able to make titles on the Wii look as good as their own...this sonic game once more is most likely going to be a disappointment, I don't understand why some people actually get themselves happy about a new sonic game anymore..haven't people learned their lesson? It doesn't matter what you see in some of the short vids or screenshots..that one up there? the one where he is a wolf thing and climbing a pole? already can tell its full of fail...people need to stop thinking positively when a damn sonic game comes out.

There have been several good Sonic titles in recent years, namely the Rush games on DS and Sonic & the Secret Rings which was very faithful to the 2D games despite some people hating its on rails nature, which is why I'm excited for Sonic & the Black Knight despite the sword deal, which is still better than a werewolf. Sonic has merely been hit and miss (more miss I guess), not all bad. This game will probably be another miss thanks to half the gameplay being the werewolf bits which look rather uninspired, but the speed levels look promising and it might be worth a rental just for those.

Looks pretty cool. I really want to get back into Sonic, but honestly, what they need is a really convincing game. They are going to have to give me a reason to play Sonic again.
