SEGA have revealed their new game with this trailer.

The House Of The Dead: OVERKILL

Awesome trailer, but that trailer does seem to show a monotonous tone, however that could be for artistic reasons with it's B movie style I suppose :?.

Seriously not interested in another Zombie game this year, L4D will make me hit the fill level there, but it does look OK and it could be a lot of fun.

I put this up on the general discussion but from YouTube.

Might get it, but I need to see more.

RE5 wouldn't hold a candle to this on Wii. A port would be terrible.

Another House of the Dead game, great.

House of the Dead only really worked when the appearance and graphics of the game were so advanced in the arcade (and it was fun enough to use and "reload" those plastic guns) that they duped people walking by them into wasting a handful of tokens.

I can't imagine sitting through a lightgun game on a console, any console. Ugh.

Also, I don't see how putting it on the Wii would offer any improvement to the franchise. The Wii remote is not going to be any more accurate than the standard lightgun setup the game has always used. It's going to be exactly like House of the Dead III for the original XBox.

Umbrella Chronicles was fun, albeit flawed out the hizazz. House of the Dead could be awesome on the console, so long as they make zombies more fun to shoot than in UC.

I've just never dug on-rails lightgun games. When I used to go the arcades religiously back in the day every once and a while I'd put a handful of tokens into 'em and think "Yep, same old boring shit." These days, the lightgun games don't even look graphically advanced, which was pretty much the lion's share of their appeal back in the day (very unique back then, almost photorealistic looking.)

As long as things explode when shot, light gun games will always hold their appeal.
