A brilliant game which takes the series to a whole new level 0

Wipeout HD has to be the best in the series so far, taking the most well known teams, the best tracks from wipeout pure and pulse (psp only) and combining them with a fitting and equally awsome soundtrack which just ads so much to the game.GAMEPLAY: Before you play this game a word of warning, if you are new to the series the learning curve on this is steep. Even on the slowest mode you will be going faster than most other racers. Though once you get used to the ccomtrols it will still be challe...

Fast and furious racing that's just a touch infuriating 0

Believe it or not, there is such a thing as a racing game that moves too fast. One such game is Wipeout HD, the latest from Sony's futuristic hovercraft racing series. A series always known for moving at insane speeds -- 600 mph being the average -- the action is often hard to follow. Turns arrive without notice, your craft ramming into them time after time; explosives go off all over constantly, covering the scene in a flurry of lights as participants rub against each other and the rails...

WipEout HD is a great game despite its difficulty. 0

WipEout HD has been hyped for a long time now, and from the perspective of a first time WipEout-er (WipEoutee?)it surely delivers. The graphics are stunningly polished, the gameplay incredibly fast and intuitive, and the thrills sharp enough to keep you on the edge of your seat even while you're gritting your teeth. It is a truly good game that remains addictive even when it is punishingly difficult, and WipEout HD is such a game.WipEout's graphics are simply the best on the PSN. The ship models...

too hard for newbies 0

This is a good game, to a point. That point being that the game is to unforgiving and hard in the single player mode. the time trials that you have to beat to progress, i.e. open more tracks, is set far to high. Missing by 1/100th of a second is fucking stupid. Sorry, it had to be said. Lets face it, this is an artificial way ot lengthen the game. And I'm sure that it is also a way for Sony to tack on an added price to unlock tracks that should have been open from the start via DLC. I bought thi...

Futuristic racing fun, at a great price! 0

WipEout HD is a remake of sorts of some of the tracks from Pure and Pulse. So, if you have played those games before you are not going to see anything new per se. You will however, see these tracks in a new light (redone specifically for the PS3). It is without a doubt a very good looking game. Highly stylized-futuristic vive of the game has never looked better (that just doesn’t go for the tracks and vehicles, but for the menu system as well). WipEout is all about speed and choosing whether you...

WipEout HD Review 0

Wow. O. That was. O my god. Ha. These are just a few of the things I said while I was playing this game. The controversy of the seizure gave this game a slight curiosity that you don't get with any other game. However finally it has landed on the PSN even after it was promised all the way back in June.If you have never played a WipEout game in the past then lets get this straight, you go fast, you blow things up and it always looks good and goes with a kick ass beat. Yes, the music is back and i...

Unforgivingly hard, but one of the best games ever. 0

If you like a challenge, ludicrous speed and astonishing art decoration WipeoutHD is just the game for you. You won't have much fun in the beginning as a newcomer to the series, but once you get the hang of the controls and start to master the upper speed modes, there is nothing like it. The beautifully crafted sceneries are done in astonishing detail and amazing design. All this flashes by at 1080p and 60fps, which, for me, makes it the best looking game I've ever played.  I don't know who put ...

Frustratingly Beautiful 0

Wipeout HD is fast. It's fast, and it's colourful. In fact it's so fast and colourful that the game warns you to take breaks every fifteen minutes to avoid epileptic seizures. That's fast. Those present at the beginning of the Playstation saga will remember the original Wipeout as the first game to be released on the system outside of Japan. Since then the series has gone from strength to strength (aside from a blip in the PS2 years) to emerge on the PSN as Wipeout HD, taking the best tracks and ...

WipEout HD Review 0

Buy wipEout HD. You shouldn’t be reading this review to judge as to whether or not you should, since it should already be on you PS3’s hard drive. You’re merely reading this to revel in the fact that you bought this console generation’s best downloadable title and giggle with glee whilst washing your skin with its liquid awesomeness.   WipEout HD is the jewel in Studio Liverpool’s crown- a gaming achievement other developers should look up to, admire and aspire to surpass. It is the racing game ...

The next generation of anti-gravity racing has arrived 0

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a new Wipeout title on a home console. In fact, the last one was the warmly received Wipeout Fusion for the PS2. After a few newer releases on the PSP, Sony Liverpool has brought the venerable racing series back to its roots, releasing it as a PSN downloadable title, and at a budget price of $20. Best of all, while it does only contain different tracks from Pulse and Pure, Wipeout HD is not just some backport to get a quick buck, containing a mix of content fro...

GOING VERY VERY FAST IN HIGH DEFINITION! 0

The much loved futuristic racer makes it's Playstation 3 debut on the Playstation Network, but does it meet the high expectation fans now have for the series or does it hit to many walls along the way? The Wipeout series as now been a part of the gaming scene for a good long while, since first appearing on Sony's first gaming console in the Playstation. Since then the franchise as appeared on a number of different Sony consoles including the Playstation 2, Playstation portable and now the Playsta...

WipEout HD is an Amazing Addition to Your Gaming Collection. 0

WipEout HD is essentially an amazing port of Pulse and Pure from the PSP games. HD sports eight tracks, twelve hovercrafts, and five different modes and more for just twenty dollars. HD is worth every penny and packs more action than twenty dollars worth of. You would have to be a fool to pass this deal up.From start to finish, WipEout is pure eye candy. Great lighting, small details on both aircrafts and tracks, and overall the best looking downloadable game on the market should be a great tech...
