Looks like fun, boo for not being on Steam.

#4 Posted by Ockman (182 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Unfortunately no steam version means no sale just yet.

#5 Posted by MolluskLingers (109 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Just trying? Don't they pay you guys to edit?

#6 Posted by MikkaQ (9704 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Guess I'm not playing Wizorb "this year".

#7 Posted by ds8k (406 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

@XII_Sniper: Hey, the guys do a lot. A typo here and there is to be expected.

#8 Posted by UncleBenny (274 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

I only buy free games.

just kidding, but what the hell is gamer's gate?

#9 Posted by DrHawking (214 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Already have it for 360 but its pretty great.

#10 Posted by UncleBenny (274 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

also, it's 2.99 euro, which, thanks to the Greeks, should be about $.02 American , thanks Obama.

#11 Posted by probablytuna (2507 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Hmmmm, maybe.

#12 Posted by MeatSim (9286 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

That's a good price.

#13 Posted by Goldanas (509 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Certainly, I could download the DRM free version through their site, which actually looks pretty nice, and I could add it to my Steam list for ease of access, but I'd rather have it tied to that account so I could download and redownload it easily on whatever computer I like without restrictions (Except I can only play it on one computer at a time).

30% of 2.99 is a lot when you need that money to survive, but automatic patching, news access, friends list, leader boards, and total game management is a much better experience overall.

The game looked only half interesting to me, but I would have bought it for 2.99 on Steam.

#14 Posted by BeachThunder (8839 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

"It will also be available shortly on Desura."

#15 Posted by Scodiac (444 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Yeah, it`s a great game. I really enjoy it. Friggin` great price too.

I see the ``No steam, no sale`` guy isn`t here, yet. Could you still put the game on your steam games list and launch it from there anyway without the overlay

Y U NO MAKE FOR MAC?

#17 Posted by BonOrbitz (1963 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Why are all cartoony old mens' noses pink or red when the rest of their face is normal?

#18 Posted by BoG (5169 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

No Steam? I'll give Gamersgate a try. I don't need more game download services, though.

I love that smaller digital download sites like Gamers Gate are getting attention but I having no purchases there already I really don't want to add my credit card to another service. Bad enough I have Origin and Games for Windows Live in addition to Steam. I kinda want to keep it centralized you know?

With that said 2.99 is a price that if I choose to impulse buy isn't going to break anyone's wallets so no harm in that I guess.

It looks pretty awesome. But I've got so many indie games on my plate right now because of all the indie bundles. I'm addicted to The Binding of Isaac and I'm trying my hardest to like Blocks That Matter (I love the aesthetic, but the gameplay doesn't click with me) from the Humble Bundle. And I've hardly touched ARES, Nimbus, Sanctum and Gemini Rue from the Indie Royale bundle yet. And now I've got to add this to my list of indie things to play. And there is a new Indie Royale bundle starting in a few days. Man, that's a lot of games.

Also, GamersGate is a great digital distribution platform. I've got several games on it and it's one of the best Steam competitors around. I know it's convenient having all your games on one service, but that shouldn't be a big enough issue to stop people from buying a game like this. Heck, if you want it on steam that badly at you could buy it again if/when it comes to steam, and you get the lovely warm fuzzy feeling of supporting an awesome indie developer not once, but twice. And at $2.99 it's no serious financial burden to yourself.

Amen Brother. If it was on Steam, i'd pick it up right now. Since it's not, I'll wait until it's on Steam/buy it in a Indie Bundle.

I am eagerly awaiting your arrival next year.

I wasn't pointing out a typo, it just literally said "wont be coming to steam 'this year'", so I said "I won't be buying this game 'this year'"

I just feel like people who don't publish on steam need to learn that there are people who like the convenience of one account, and having them already know my credit card. A game like Wizorb is a sort of impulse purchase for me, and if I can't buy it in one click and I'm putting in my Visa and address, that's too much time for me to think "Nah, I have like 30 other games I should finish first".

Ditto. I'm through managing multiple game managers. New games need to be really compelling if I'm to get out of my Steam comfort zone :|

I'm pretty sure they want to be on Steam. It's probably Steam that can't be bothered by a small indie dev during the busiest time of the year videogame release-wise.

#30 Posted by BoG (5169 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

I purchased it, and I really enjoy it. I recommend waiting for the Steam purchase, though. Achievements!

Oh well then. It's not like I'm missing much either way. It's not exactly the deepest game out there.

I'll be holding out to buy this until it's on Steam. I don't mind paying extra to cover the Steam commission costs. Hell, double the price, it'll cost less than my breakfast this morning.

#34 Posted by goodwood (600 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

I didnt know this was already on Xbox Live. Just checked and I have enough points to buy it.

Y DOESN'T WINDOW MODE WORK!! MY EYES :/!

#36 Posted by Drace (153 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Was really hoping for a Mac version. This looks like fun!

#37 Posted by digitaldiatribe (42 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

I'm also on the "Waiting till it's on Steam" bandwagon. Seems like a missed opportunity there.

#38 Edited by gike987 (1574 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

GOG.com and Steam is enough for me. I don't want to keep track of more services than that, so I will get it if it comes to steam.

#39 Posted by Doppelgamer (217 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

I'll wait for a PS3 version. In other words, probably forever. :( Too bad, because a PS3/PSP combo version sounds really interesting.

#40 Posted by rjayb89 (7553 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

Make another news story for this when it hits Steam, then maybe I'll consider getting it.

#41 Posted by SomeJerk (2065 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

I bought that Jakkgames Pong paddle deal last week and.. I need to find me an old PS/2 port mouse that isn't optical so I can hack it into a spinner, stat. Spinners RULE.

It sounds like you're on the cusp of living the dream. Be sure to make a video of this if you end up pulling it off!

This game is outstanding, and it looks/plays great on XBLI. No brainer purchase, my friends.

#44 Posted by strongslick55 (3 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

I really want to buy this again just to play it with a mouse, thank god its only $3

#45 Posted by ThePhilatron (245 posts) - 1 year, 6 months ago

The wait is over! I will now gladly play this game!

Was charmed by what I saw in the QuickLook, decided to pick it up, and played for a bit.

I'm a Wizorb, and this is pretty great for 3 bucks.
