So how many of have played World of Goo? Now how many of you bought the game legitimately?
Hmm... I see. Fuck you, all 90% of you!
Ahem, if you have no idea what I'm talking about (and you probably don't), just check this out. So if you've pirated this game, do the honorable thing and buy the damn thing. It's cheap for God's sake! Buy it now!

Here's how you ruin indie game developers.

I've played the World of Goo demo and enjoyed it. I'll probably buy the game at some point. I won't be pirating it though. That's just not cool.
Pirates should be punished like any other type of thief.
Mind you, I didn't buy the game myself. Not going to pay $20 for a puzzle game.
Scummy bastards. I will be getting on Wii Ware very soon now, seeing as though 2D Boy have had a change of heart and are now not going to release it on Wii disc in Europe. Most likely due to this as it was going to be full price with extra content..
Oh my i love it when people shout out big numbers.
Let's simplify this by saying that there are 10 people who played the game, 9 out of 10 pirated the game thus the dev only gets 1 person paying. Logic i agree but incomplete.
If it was impossible to pirate this game would there still have been 10 people who bought it? I highly doubt it.
Number of downloads does not equal number of missed sales.
The dastards! I love World Of Goo, and bought it on WiiWare. 90% is ridiculous and all those people need to be shot in all of their main joints.
This just pisses me off....I need to go punch something...
"Bellum said:It's still wrong because some people are still paying - it's like sneaking into the movies - does the theater lose any money? No, but why should the people who bought tickets be chumps? There's no loss in stock, but I think there are potential missed sales. If pirating were made impossible, I think the pirates would buy some games, they are interested in the things they are pirating. It wouldn't 100% of what was pirated, but it wouldn't be 0% either."Yeah but in the case of digital products theft does not mean loss in stock."Number of downloads does not equal number of missed sales.
No, but if does equal number of thefts."

I might add just for the record that i am not discussing the moral issue here but they way these numbers should interpreted.

A percentage of them should be interpreted as lost sales. Not to should just as much be considered an oversimplification. Also, a loss in sales is not the only problem associated with theft. It's really indefensible in this case.
I can't remember, and I'm laid back full of burger and don't feel like reading it again. I'll take your word for it.
World of Goo designer Ron Carmel isn't even particularly bothered by it. They're still doing well enough.
Obviously, people should be buying it though. I just can't be bothered to pay the $5 extra for the PC version.
