I hate you Outlands...

Rolled a Troll Druid to check out some of the new zones and had an absolute blast.  Almost tempted to make an Undead Hunter just to check out some of the Silverpine areas as well.  Then I get to Outlands on the druid... and now I'm bored.

I don't know what it is about BC content that I hate so much that it bores me half to death compared to the rest of the questing in WoW.

Outlands is sooo easy though. Once you get out of Hellfire you slide right to 70 nowadays.

I think it's just the first zone. Hellfire is so ugly and big and long and obnoxious.

Once you get out of it it goes ok.

I love Hellfire, one of my fav zones.

Grab food and drinks, grind it out bitch.
You'll be out of Outlands before you know it.

Gotta agree that the environments in TBC are extremely bland compare to WotLK, but they did improve the quests A LOT compare to vanilla.

i manage to GTFO of outland after I'm done with Terokkar.
fuck Blade Edge Mountain, fucking spikey mountain and 90% "kill them coloured ogres" quest.

I couldn't agree with the OP more.  I made an Orc Mage last week and really enjoyed my time in the new-old world.  Now that I'm in the Outlands, I'm not even sure I want to keep playing that character.

redoing the WotLK zones is equally bad

I love Outland. Shit is so cash.

You NEED to experience Silverpine and Hillsbrad. Those zones are absolutely stellar.

I've still never gotten to Outlands.

I should really like, actually play WoW sometime.

I've been leveling in Silithus and really hating it, so hopefully I can get one new old world zone in before I go to Outland.  I hear Burning Steppes is good.  Any 55-60 zone recommendations?

The quests may not seem good anymore, but I always liked the designs of the Outland zones, since they are especially "alien" compared to Azeroth.  Also, I vastly prefer Shattrath to Dalaran as far as neutral cities go.  Really enjoyed the vibe of Shattrath.  Good vibes, man.

If you're tired of outlands check out pvp leveling. I was getting close to 70k per win last in strand, and it seemed faster then questing. Granted I wont quiet a few and when we lost we got like 30ish thousand exp.

I love the BC areas. Especially Nagrand. I found WotLK stuff started getting a bit dull for me.

i have nostalgia for vanilla areas.  and the original world is freaking HUGE.

TBC areas, looking at those it you can just feel yeah this is an expansion, small and crowded.  it's just the middle kid now who is no lounger cute.
loved it enough back when it first came out though.

I thought the Burning Crusade content was very fun myself. Also, it's Outland, not Outlands.

If you really don't want to do the zone itself, just run instances until you're about 68, and then head to Northrend.  If you spec into healing you should have no problem finding groups for many of the instances.

#18 Posted by Slayne (45 posts) - 2 years, 6 months ago
@fishmicmuffin:
Ya, I've debated doing that.  Been questing anyways and just queuing up as dps in between as I'm kind of tired of healing after playing healing in every MMO for the last 8 or 9 years.

I want to melt faces for a bit :)
#19 Posted by fishmicmuffin (1011 posts) - 2 years, 6 months ago
@Slayne: Fair enough haha. You could also try tanking the instances, you probably can if you're feral spec. If you're boomkin, then... I guess you're gonna have to just deal with ONLY melting faces =]

I think Hellfire is easily the weakest zone in BC, but you can skip it and start in Zangarmarsh.  It's not as easy, and you probably can't do it at 58, but I've done it before for reputation reasons.

Because of how XP has been so nerfed for what is needed to ding... You shouldn't even need to be in Outlands long.

My DK just left Outlands last week.  I only did Hellfire, some of Nagrand, and some of Shadowmoon.  By then I was halfway through 67 and just said eff it, and ground out the rest in Borean Tundra.

But you could also just instance your ass off and never have to do much in Outlands.  I understand the healing vs. dps thing.  I had been an healer in every game prior to WoW and my main in WoW had become a Warlock.  Now, I have 2 healers at 80, another at 45, and will be rolling a 4th healer in Cata.

It's weird now that the Outlands is sandwiched between two expansions that have much better quest design (considering the new Azeroth plays alot like WotLK). Back in the day I used to look forward to getting a character out of Azeroth since the quests became so grindy and miserable.

Four healers...
I've managed to make due with just one; can't imagine running around with four.
