I have always wanted to get into WoW but I was always afraid of getting constantly killed by higher level characters. Is it possible to get into Wow this late into the game?

Is it too late?
I just recently got into WoW (and fell out after the trial ended and I bought the retail copy...GREAT! lol) ...but anyways, it's a great time to jump into the game. You don't have to worry about getting killed over and over again as long as you stay out of the PvP servers. It's a fun game, but it will get boring if you don't hook up with some other players. WoW SP = not much fun.
Anytime is a fine time to start.
I started playing about a month ago, and i pretty much know the ropes now.
WoW is an easy game to pick up and learn rather quickly. So the learning curve you should be fine.
In recent patches, Blizzard has been reducing XP requirements (very slightly I should add) to get to the higher levels. I believe WotLK comes out around October, and it usually takes people around 3 months to get their first character from 1-70 (doesn't apply to hard core players obviously). So you should be getting near or be at around the same level as everyone else when the expansion comes out, at which point you'll have plenty of people to play with, as everyone will start leveling their characters to 80 or making a new Death Knight.
Good luck and I hope you enjoy the game!
Never is a good time because i dont want to destroy my life.
I work 11 hour days and have precious little free time for games as it is.
The time i would spend playing this game would cut out every other. I dont feel its worth it, there are to many great titles. Ive done my share of grinding in video games, I just cant justify it anymore. A portion of my brain keeps nagging me that im working for something irrelevant and my precious time could be done experiencing something more interesting.
Though the game calls to me.
I must stay strong.
Even on PVP server its not too late, but you might want to start out on PVE.
Honestly i prefer PVE servers over PVP only because i don't care for running around ganking level 20's, the only PVP i enjoy is Arena and Battlegrounds which is on both PVE and PVP servers.
it is NEVER too late, if you happen to come on server Area 52 (PVE) i can help you out on quest, instances etc.
i say join a pvp server people are constantly making alts and joining do youll always have lowbies around you, plus getting killed by the higher lvls (only other factions) rarely occurs and if it does its now for long.
you should join my server mal'ganis its one of the bst raiding whisper me

No way! It's never to late to start playing WoW! New people start every day!
Just make sure you choose a Normal (PVE) server instead of PVP so you wont have to worry about being killed by other players and you should probably join the server that the game will recommend to you when you first load the game. It'll reccomend one of the newer servers so that there will still be plenty of lower-level characters in the world. Go try the free trial.
It shouldn't be a problem as long as you stick to the PvE servers. You probably won't have any problems with finding low level characters either, although those may compose mostly of alts. Good thing about that is that there's a good number of helpful people in WoW so you shouldn't worry :).
