WTF: Work Time Fun Review
WTF: Work Time Fun is a collection of mini-games for the PSP. You'll be completing mini-games for cash which you can turn into collectables, new games, or applications that you can use. You'll also be getting e-mails from "friends" from time to time, or an e-mail describing the item that you might have just picked up.
Graphically this game reminds me of a slightly better looking Wario Wares game. You're going to see your 8-bit graphics in some games and sprites in other games. The first time you navigate the menu you might be confused as to where the cursor is, but after that first time you'll get it down. Each game does have a different look to it, so you won't have to worry about being confused as to what game your playing.
Sound-wise this game is light on the sounds. They are very simplistic noises and you're probably going to end up playing this game with the sound off after a while because there is nothing to keep your attention on the sound/music front.
The nice thing about this game is the controls. They are very simplistic, but at the same time each game uses the controls in a slightly different way. Sure you might be utilizing the X button in almost every game, but the functionality is going to be different.
So I have to say this about the game, its a lot of work, and light on the fun. Putting pen caps on pens, counting people as they run across the screen, fielding a baseball and throwing it to first base, walking across a street frogger style, chopping wood, trying to break out of being pinned as close to 3 seconds as possible, and so many more are what you get to look forward to. Sure the first time you play some of the games you're going to think that it might be entertaining, but to be honest most of these games are one and done games. The only way that I've truly been able to make money so that I can unlock more of this game is by doing the pen cap game, and I am constantly wanting to just turn off the game. It is interesting that they threw in some applications like a bill splitter (which does exactly what you'd think, though I don't know many people going to a nice restaurant with a PSP in their pocket), a flashlight application, an app to help time your cooking of Ramen, and more. There is the ability to play multiplayer games that you can unlock, but to be honest I don't think anyone will be able to find someone else that has this game.
If you want the poor man's version of Wario Wares, with slightly better graphics, but at the price of fun, get this game. If not, then I'd recommend just letting this one be, there are more entertaining games that you can get short burst of fun out of. This game gets a 3.2 out of 10.
