    X-men Origins: Wolverine Review

Having not seen the movie I can't tell you if this is a faithful adaptation or not, but what I can tell you is it is a gory, fast-pace, thrill ride where you get to play as Wolverine and slice and dice the crap out of countless enemies as you get a little bit of history on the clawed hero. You will get to witness his past, and glimpse the future. You'll get to make Wolverine one badass customer who will let nothing stand in his way.

Graphically I have to say that this game surprised me. I wasn't expecting something as crisp as this. The cut scenes were just gorgeous. The different look to the levels and the enemies you fought were very well done.

Music-wise expect to get the sounds that you would find is generic for the locals. Also the one-liners that Wolverine (Logan) is handing out get a bit old. When doing activities such as climbing a rope or a wall expect to listen to generic sound clips.

The controls on this game felt a bit loose. For the most part you're not going to notice it because you're going to have to button mash through fight after fight, but when you're trying to do precise actions a few times in the game you're bound to get frustrated at the lack of response you will sometimes get. A fun little thing I did find was if you spam the buttons fast enough during the parts where you have the visual indicator of what to push you can get the game to freak out and show you the end result over and over again.

The story was a bit confusing, and to be honest it was odd that every time the game flashed back in time and then back to "present" time you continued to have what you had gained to that point in the game. This game looks amazing, and I really wish that there was a bit more to it. There are some boss fights worth fighting, but then you have these mini-bosses that you have to fight over and over again, and it gets old. The lava creature was awesome the first two time, but after the fourth and fifth it was time to get a new enemy. One helpful hint  about this game, when jumping make sure you double tap the jump button so that you can actual make a lot of the jumps. I can't tell you how frustrated that left me, when I was doing single jumps. One problem with the game is if you've got too many enemies on the screen, which I think is right around 10 you're going to experience some very noticeable slow down. Also if you're moving too quickly through the level you'll get the message "streaming..." which will stop your game completely until its loaded another chunk of the level. I did like the information that they gave out during the loading screens, but I wish there was more info that they gave.

If you're looking for a game where you can be an out of control Wolverine, this is a game you've got to check out. Yeah there are parts you're not going to like, but overall you're going to get to see Wolverine destroy enemies with his claws, and there's plenty of blood to be spilled. If only the flaws weren't as noticeable I could give it a higher score, but as it stands this game gets a 7.8 out of 10.

      Summer blockbuster fun 0

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is by no means a perfect game. It has a large handful of problems, ones that range from small to medium in size. At times they make the game totally frustrating or even unplayable, and almost cause an otherwise good game to be generally unenjoyable. But the crazy thing about Wolverine is that even with all its problems, it still manages to be fun. X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a blast in the simplest of ways, making it a great game for any and all action fans.As mentioned,...

Definately not another "Movie Game"! 0

Let me firstly just say that this is probably one of the best "movie released games" ever, even grinding through the various achievments is entertaining to a degree. [[Also this will be a relatively quick review]]Story/Gameplay: Is quite long, way more in depth than even the movie and in fact branches out into some of the comic storylines. Ive been playing it for roughly eleven hours, and Ive only just had the fight with gambit so the story is quite lengthy. I think what splits this apart from o...
