One of my absolute favorite video game tracks from the genesis era begins after you jump off the Shi'ar transport in the second level of the game.  I would often time my jump off the platform to coincide with the beginning of the track.  After a minute or so, the crazy synth stabs come in and I would love it as a little kid.  The Deathbird fight was pretty easy, but I would prolong it just so I could hear the music.
