Alright, I live in the UK and I'm slightly jealous of the US Amazon selling XBLA games for discounted prices. At this rate it's only a matter of time before something I actually want to buy is on discount there.
I already have a US silver XBL account on my xbox and I know for a fact that if I plug my memory unit with my gamertag on it into a friends machine I can use all of his XBLA games. So my theory is that if I buy games through amazon and download it through my silver US account the n maybe I could get some games cheaper when their on discount.
So I ask you these vague questions:
- Could I use a UK credit card on the US amazon?
- Can an arcade game be downloaded to a different country?
I'm sure I'll add more to this as I spin this around in my mind, I'm sure I'm not the only person who would be interested in this.
EDIT: Ok trying to actually work out the economics of this:
Using MS Points Converter
UK: 400 MS Points = £3.40 = $4.92
US: 400 MS Points = $5.00 = £3.45
But I have no idea where they got those numbers from or how relevant they actually are so...
Xbox Marketplace: 500 MS Points = £4.25
4.25 / 500 * 400 = £3.40 so the calculator gives accurate prices for 400 points
great, so what does all that mean?
