2008 Most Underrated Xbox 360 Game?

I know we can't tell the future, but what do you think will be or is the most underrated game of 2008?

I'm gonna say the Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise. I don't think the first one did very well, but it was so deep and entertaining, I expect this one to be even more so.

Viva Pinata is actually a good pick. The first one was vastly overlooked for the sake of being "kiddy".

I can see Fallout 3 being a sleeper hit.

Eternal Sonata! That game was fucking awesome. One of the best battle systems I've come across in a modern JRPG and it looked gorgeous.

Viva Pinata and The Darkness as well.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't read the thread title close enough, but seriously, everone go play Eternal Sonata. As for 2008, I'd probably agree with Lost Odyssey.

Ehhh, I think Fallout 3 will do well but in terms of sales I could see people who aren't hardcore not knowing what it is.

As for my game, If Mercenaries 2 comes out that will most likely be a sleeper like the first game.

Lost Odyssey was definitely underrated. Had a pretty good turn based system when it looked like turn based was dead.

I'm feeling that GRID was fairly underrated this year. Awesome driving game far better than say a GT5: Prologue.

I agree with those about the Viva Overlook but I think Banjo will have the same problem too.

I have to agree with Joe, Pikachu and suneku about Lost Odyssey. Very underrated game. It was snubbed by a lot of people.

I heard it sold around 710,000 copies which is very good news for anyone who liked it (because it probably means that more of it is coming).

Lost Odyssey. If the game was named Final Fantasy it would have had reviews of 8.5+ not 7.

Eternal Sonata was a 2007 game, but I agree that the battle system was great in that game. And, it was well designed in how the combat increased in complexity as you leveled up.

Lost Odyssey was underrated, I agree.

Obviously, guessing what future game will be underrated isn't possible.

But, of the games I've played over the last 7+ months, I guess it would have to go to Lost Odyssey.

It got OK reviews, but it seemed like it didn't really strike a cord with the majority of players.

Now, the tough admission, I actually played Kung Fu Panda (I really liked the movie, so I gave the demo a shot), and I liked it quite a bit. I think most 360 gamers would completely dismiss it, and few sites didn’t even reviewed it, so in a sense, I could say Kung Fu Panda was the most underrated game on the 360.

OK, let me have it.

I agree with everyone who said Lost Odyssey. Though I think most review scores were low because the pre-release code was glitchy.

Viva Pinata is the most underrated 360 game. Most so called underrated games are decent games that didn't sell. Viva Pinata on the other hand is a truly excellent game that didn't sell. The problem is that Microsoft marketed it as a kids game. If they had instead marketed as a hardcore garden simulation it would have done way better.

"Viva Pinata because gardening is for grown ups."

Battlefield Bad Company. Despite having great reviews, it should at least be in the top 3 played game on Live. I'm just baffled by the fact that this game is not reaching a lot of people. Yes, it is getting mixed reactions due to people that are used to the fast pace/easy to kill scenario like in Call of Duty 4 but Battlefield is a refreshing concept that is quite addicting if you give it a chance.

for me it's lost odyssey. maybe also vegas2 because I love the online for that game but it's been overmatched by COD4

Sega Superstars Tennis - If you're a Sega fan, this is the fan-service game for you....plus it plays a pretty decent game of Tennis. :)

Of Games that have come out - I would agree about Turok - that game gets a bad rap for reasons I don't get. It's not Halo or COD4 but it doesn't try to be. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 seems to go under the radar for some reason as well.

Of games that are coming up - Completely agree on Left 4 Dead - it's a Valve shooter - I'm beating it's going to be all kinds of awesome simply for that reason alone. And Far Cry 2 has me quite excited - every little snippet that comes out seems to continually confirm my feelings on it.

Agreed, absolutely fantastic game, worthy of at least an 8 imo.

I'm on Chapter 10 and i really haven't seen any of the "cheapness" that a lot of the reviews were banging on about.
