So my launch controller would pull slightly to the left on the left analogue stick, the next controller there was a similiar drift to the left but this time it was on the right stick. My latest controller is the silver one with the adjustable D-pad and the right stick now pulls down slightly. I've lived with the other problems, but the latest controller deadzone problem is driving me mental - especially in Battlefield 3 where I feel like I'm constantly second guessing my aiming.

Is there a cure to my problem? I'm willing to open up the controller (I have the required screwdriver) and do whatever, but I don't know what to do... any ideas? Help would be very much appreciated :D

Oh my a launch controller! You must be very gentle on your things. My right sticks drifted on two controllers already from frantic Halo playing. And I thought I was doing fine.

I just suckered up and bought new ones. Good luck with the problem. :P

I was literally just thinking of this when I happened upon your thread! I've got my awesome red controller that I really don't wanna replace! Like you, I'm also eager to hear from anyone about a solution to this drifting problem, as my controller is just starting to show signs of it.

    Yeah you buy another controller.

I think mine are fine for about half a year before they start falling apart.

I have to replace my main controller usually once a year. I don't think there is a "fix".

Thanks for the replies... My launch controller had the problem from DAY ONE. I remember it happening in Call of Duty 2 and thinking it was a bug, but I soon learnt it was the controller. The next controller took a while but I can live with it. It's my relatively new silver one that's killing me - it was a present so I can't return it so I want it to work. At least I'm not alone... But I feel like it's just one more dodgy Microsoft product (onto my third 360 and those rechargeable battery packs aren't worth shit after a few months) that should just work. If anyone has any crazy ideas, I'll give them a whirl :)

What are you guys doing to your poor controllers! I have still my wireless controller and battery from when I bought the 360 back in... late 06 maybe 07? Same controller that I use today on my PC and do tons of gaming on.

I feel like you would really have to be really trying to break the joysticks enough to make them drift... I guess the only trend I am noticing is that I don't do any competitive multiplayer with the controller - I save that for the mouse and keyboard.
