For those of you who still care...

As part of our Leipzig 2008 coverage, X360a has learnt that, in addition to making several key changes to Alone in the Dark for the Playstation 3 version, the developers are also looking to create a patch in order to fix the 360 version as well.

Several key changes include:

*Player controlled Camera
*Game pauses whilst you are in inventory
*More reactive environments
*Re-tuned item generation
*Enemies are easier to kill

During a press-only demonstration of these new features, the developers confirmed that they were looking to try and patch these new features for the 360, ensuring that both users can enjoy Alone in the Dark as it should be.

There are a few features, such as the added cinematics, which won't be patched, and there has been no set timeframe for this update.

That sounds like one heck of an update, I can only guess how big it's gonna be and how long it's gonna take. But it does make me reconsider buying the game.

So... they're actually making the game remotely playable? I still won't give it a purchase, but I find the developer's efforts to be earnest. That earns my respect.

No word on "humanz" "ratz" "batz" etc. ? I have a buddy who swears it was a translation error (he loves the game to death) but I have a hard time believing that.

I heard like that game had serious problems but a lot of good ideas. Maybe this will get rid of the problems.

I think it's a good, and necessary update. The game had many problems.

I'll just get the PS3 version instead, but this will be good for my friend who already bought the 360 version. Told him not to but his loss lol, hopefully it adds almost all the PS3 added content/improvements.

Well, if it doesn't get a patch for ALL the improvements the PS3 version is getting, then me and my friend will have to share the PS3 version I guess. :\

I am pretty sure most of the improvements will be patched into the 360 version, it's common sense.

Game is bad. Hopefully, the patch will be soon.

Cool to hear. I'm quite interested to hear how much this actually helps, based on the ire this game has received

It won't have all the updates is what is being said, it will include the movement being easier, and making Edward more agile moving him and less of a tank..but won't include anything else, this is the rumor at least.

Too little too late, this is the kind of thing that Eden Studios should have done for the 360 version a few weeks after AitD came out and should have announced shortly after release so everyone wouldn't promptly trade the game back in. Now noone has the game and there is still little incentive to buy the game. Even after the patch there will still be a ton of issues.

It does make the game better, but I feel it will make a bad game easier to live with. I still like developers that delay games, than those who deliever unfinished.

i played the demo, and i thought it was unique and fun to play.  after the update happens, and the game falls in price ill pick up this one.

If this fix is substantial enough i might pick this up.
