If there were major problems, you would have heard about them already. We won't know for sure how reliable the new slim consoles are until they have been out for a year or two, but right now everything looks good.
So far so good for me. Although I've found that depending on exactly how I have it situated, it vibrates the surface it's sitting on and can be loud. Kinda annoying, but that's my fault.
Picks up dust and finger prints and causes Destructoid to post articles about how it scratches discs if you pick it up and run around with it like an idiot.
Other than I hate the glossy finish and wish it was either white, or matted black, its been good. Got mine on launch week and its been running fine. Even the controller that came with it seems better. I heard there using the European internal design on the new controllers.
I question these people who say its loud. Mine can cause vibrations that can cause other things on my wall-unit to rattle some, but its defiantly not coming out of the XBox itself.

Yeah, I got freaked out a lot when I was playing my 360 and it got really got all the time no mater what.. I think its just a sign of all the hot air flowing out and it still being summer. But with fall and winter coming in, it should help keep the temps down more.
