No red ring, never had to send it in for repairs. Anyone else had the same luck?
Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 is the second game console produced by Microsoft Corporation and is the successor to the original Xbox.
Anyone else still have a working launch 360?
Mine still works, but while it isn't launch, I did get it back in 2007. For comparison, my Wii, which I did get at launch, broke down in 2009. Man, that sucked.
Yup! I don't have possession of it, since I upgraded to one of the Slims, but my buddy still uses it on a daily basis. Guess I'm just lucky.
Nope. That one RROD'd a couple of years ago.
My launch 360 lasted until March of 08 when it red ringed while playing Gears with a friend. After it got repaired the only other issue I had was in December of 09 when the hard drive crapped out as I was saving in Red Faction after this one mission. That was actually more annoying to me than the red ring since I lost a bunch of saves. It was still working when I traded it in for the new Slim model when Gamestop was running that deal last June.
my launch model broke after 13 months (about 2 weeks before MS extended the RROD warranty) but i fixed it myself using the xclamp repair, and i got another 2 years heavy use out if it, it finally dying in late 2008
I DO own an MS RROD repair what was a launch model that i picked up cheap which is either an opus chipset OR another 205w chipset and it is still going strong however, but it is not my main console, if it had of been it may have died by now.
my main console is a jasper elite,
Mine worked fine when I traded it in a year ago for a new one. My warranties were all up and I got scared.
Yeah i still have my 2005 launch model. It has broken once or twice tho. Haven't been using it much in the last two years, parts of me is afraid of turning it on, and then there is the annoying noise factor.
I'm on my 3rd.
First one overheated and busted.
Second the disc tray broke.
First two were arcade 360's so I said screw it and bought an elite.
I bought mine in early 2006, so it's not technically a "launch" 360, but damned near close. It still works great. I sent it in for repairs once, but it wasn't for the RRoD. My second 2008-era 360 has never been sent in for repairs, but it spends most of its time as a media extender, not playing games (although lately I've been playing more games on it).
Three years ago I bought a refurb off a friend who sent his in because it RR'd. After three months the disc drive started to go out on it. It was loud and it wouldn't load random games. I sold it to Game Crazy, got $70 and put it towards an Arcade unit. Haven't had a problem since.
My original launch (as in was there in line for the fucker) 360 was sent in for repairs within the first year. Then the next year (I think it was the next year?), it started to scratch disks. And the Elite was out. So we took it back under the store warranty and said we'll pay the extra $50 for an Elite. My kid has the elite up in her room, and we have a new Slim.
Nope. I was able to prevent the RROD by replacing the fan and doing the x-clamp fix. But, then the disc drive decided to destroy Halo 3: ODST. Grr...
I only bought an Xbox when the 360 Slim came out, i figured they would of finally solved all the issues. Honestly though it still runs fairly hot for what it is, sometimes i really don't know what M$ is thinking. I can't recall any electronic device that had such a prominent failure rate during launch.
