Oh my sure was not expecting this. Since this announcement is planned on the same day TvsC will be released it would not surprise me if it is indeed a new fighting game.

MS don't exactly have the biggest lineup of characters that would fit in to a fighting game..  But I'd still be more interested in it than Tatsunoko.

Well, as much as I was joking I do actually think it'd be a great game.  There's a bunch of Halo characters that would obviously work well and Banjo, Blinx and certain Viva Pinata characters would fit in as well as some of the guys they have in the other VS games.  I'd love to see Fizzlybear fighting and using a lot of weird pinata attacks and of course Blinx has his vaccum and his time control abilities.  I'm sure we could have guys from Crackdown, Fable and a few characters from the Mistwalker RPG's like Kaim as well.

why is everyone forgetting Marcus Pheonix from Gears if it was a capcom vs MS game (which by the way, there is no way in hell its that). Gears is as exclusive to MS as Halo

Yeah, I saw these and that makes me think my assumption (and others who think that) could be correct.  I'm not sure about the part where the producer says "if Tatsunoko vs Capcom sells well there'll be an announcement later this year" though, because if there would be a possibility of an announcement later this year, that would mean a certain Vs.game is already in production, right? Teasers like this do nothing for me. Let me know when there is something worth getting exceited about.

The 26th is my brothers birthday... Could Capcom and Microsoft know?!

Well the reason Capcom Vs SNK or Marvel or something works is because all the characters have a unifying vision, or similar style. All microsoft's main franchises are done by different companies, different artists, and jarringly different tones. So it would look absolutely nuts, and it's quite implausible. 
 
 
God I hope this is something awesome. They might be rebooting another old franchise, which could be cool.
