Dead space or Saints row 2?

#1 Posted by Yoda (55 posts) -

Yeah, i can't decide which to buy..

Dead space seems like a solid game with fun gameplay.. however i didn't like condemned or FEAR... i did like prey. I don't like games with cheap scare tactics.. this seems to resemble bioshock in the slightest way, which i loved.

Saints row 2, i liked the first one, it was a lot of fun but i never really got into the story or anything, it was somewhat out of order (idk) and i didn't really like all the missions.

What do you guys think?
thanks for the input

I say Dead Space.

Dead Space seems like a rental to me.  Saints Row was never my style, but it seems like that game has a little more replay value and longevity to it compared to Dead Space.

You bring up a good debate there. Would you rather have a game that lasts 30 hours but ends up alright, or a fantastic 8 hour game?

Dead Space.

Well, if your in it for the long term id say saints row.
I dont know about you but you can only play a scary game soo many times before the scares are gone and your just breezing through shooting stuff for achievements. So i say go with saints row, even when your done with the main campaign you can just run around shotgunning people to your hearts content. If you liked the first one, more of the same isnt going to hurt.

But if you dont care about long term and just want a couple of cheap thrills go with dead space.
The creatures are scary on their own but you know 95% of the scares are all going to be the same "jump out of the dark room" scare like Doom 3. But its still going to be awesome dismembering said monsters. Plus if you liked RE4 you'll probably like this because it has the same over the shoulder camera.

Its a hard decisions considering they arn't even in the same genre.

poersonally iam getting dead space because i love Space and i love Horror, and when you combine them both its Reeses all over again.

If I had to pick one I'd go with Saints Row 2. It has been getting good scores and it's always looked like stupid fun. I just think it has much more lasting appeal than Dead Space, but what do I know...I'm likely going to buy both! :P

Dead Row 2

I'm going to say Saints Row 2 simply it looks fun and isn't all serious.

Can't you just buy 1 and rent the other one? I would buy the one with multiplayer.

Rent Dead Space, buy Saints Row 2.

Shit, I meant to hit "quote" on my post, but I hit "delete" instead.

Either way...

Crackdown.

Saint's Row.I will be renting Dead Space and maybe buying if not renting Saint's Row 2.

Dead Space looks really good to me, but because of the type of game it is you could definitely get your fun with it from just a rental, as with SR2 would take longer to complete, and there are alot of side missions.

dead space

If you got a gaming PC, get Dead Space. But overall I would go with Saints Row 2.

So Dead Space.

I say Dead Space. I've played through RE4 about 80 bajillion times and people are basically saying Dead Space is like a better Resident Evil... and in space. So chances are I'm going to play it more than once.

Why even question it my little green friend, Dead Space all the way do not become clouded with the force.

Another thread idea thought up by you.

Both games don't really appeal to me, but I'd probably go with Dead Space.

Dead Space
From all I've seen SR2 doesn't bring anything innovative to the table.

#23 Posted by insanegamer (612 posts) -

i am going to buy saints row 2 this week and dead space next week.

#24 Posted by Shotaro (820 posts) -

Neither I have no interest in SR2 whatsoever and Dead Space looks like a rental only game for me

so I guess Dead Space... though I would rather my answer be neither

#25 Posted by Bartiemus (253 posts) -

I'm getting Saints Row 2 I liked the first one even if it was a bit buggy.

#26 Posted by Kush (8889 posts) -

Wait a sec...you're Yoda! Why not pick up Soul Calibur IV instead? If you loved RE4 then Dead Space is your game. If not, you can't go wrong with Saints Row 2.

My opinion, I'll say go and invest in Dead Space (I'm a survival-horror fanatic).

This is why these threads are always pointless...everyone has their own specific opinion. Why ask someone to make up your opinion for you?

Sign up for Gamefly and rent 'em both, like me.

#30 Posted by Pibo47 (3166 posts) -

Saints Row 2 has zombies, + more replay value. Dead space is a rent.

#31 Posted by daniel_beck_90 (3159 posts) -

WTF ? you compare a cheap game like Saint row 2 with Dead space ???!!!

Dead space rules like nothing , have not you seen the super high scores for this game ?

#32 Posted by RHCPfan24 (8609 posts) -

Dead Space.

#33 Posted by mordecaix7 (657 posts) -

I would suggest Dead Space but that's because Saint's Row doesn't appeal to me either.  If you're talking length and content, I would imagine Saints Row 2 would give you more for your money.  Experience and immersion wise, it seems like you're going to get a whole lot out of Dead Space.  The scares may gone if you play through a couple of times, but it could be fun to play through with friends.

#34 Posted by Cymatics (90 posts) -

I think both are must buys, for me anyways, but if I should get one, and the other later, I woudl take Saints Row 2 without a doubt. I really liked the first one, and it seems like this one is even more about the pure fun factor.
Cant wait to get my hands on it.

#35 Posted by krazedkaoz (71 posts) -

I'm playing the 1st Saints Row now and loving it so I'd say sr2.

#36 Posted by Bartiemus (253 posts) -

I got Saints Row 2 its a lot of fun

#37 Posted by OfficialJab (151 posts) -

Not to interested in the Saint's Row thing.... it strikes me as mindless fun while Dead Space looks more like, a masterpiece of the genre. Not sure about either yet, that's just the way it looks.

The Saint's Row, "anti GTA" style trailer really turned me off.

#38 Posted by DrPepper1990 (530 posts) -

I just picked up Saints row 2 collector's edition and plan on getting Dead Space next week. I would say get Dead Space now, play it and you should be able to complete in in a week. Then buy saints row 2.
