Which do you prefer?

Personally, I like TPS's better. I like seeing behind me.

If you can't seem to decide, what will you be palying Fallout 3 in?

I like Third person games better. I feel more coordinated when I can see my character.

FPS, it makes me feel more like I'm actually there.  Anybody who hasn't played Crysis, COD4, or BioShock with a good PC doesn't know what they're missing out on.

First Person,Though I did love Rainbow 6 Vegas's cover system,The whole first to third person transition worked pretty well.

I like third-person because I like to see what my character's doing and how he's moving and all that. But now that first-person games have the camera-shaking and all that good stuff, I'd say it's more even for me.

It depends, but I think more games should have a tps option. It's far inferior to FPS when it comes to aiming though

TPS is better for platforming purposes. FPS for accuracy.

A like a combination, like Rainbow six, to me that worked flawlessly, but either is good really.

Yes, but so do FPS's now. Look at Killzone 2. Also, the cover system is constantly improving, Dark Void, infamous, and of ocurse Gears are completely changing it.

well I personally feel that it depends on what the developer is trying to achieve. I mean, with say Bioshock; that game wouldn't have worked as good if it had been
a Third-Person shooter. The act of actually being the character, and seeing and exploring Rapture  through his eyes contributed to the atmospheric nature
of the game. Now with games like Gears of War that game probably wouldn't work as well as a First-Person shooter. Marcus Fenix wouldn't really work if you
saw the world from his eyes; now granted you do, but the added dimension of cover, and seeing him engaged in chainsawing his foes just are examples of how
the perspective adds to the gameplay experience.

Now there are also exceptions. Resistance has already proven that it could work as a Third-person shooter with Resistance: Retribution for the PSP.
So it depends on what the developer is trying to do.

Third Person.

It depends though, CoD4 probably wouldn't of been as good if it was a Third Person Shooter.

ReTarDedFisHy prefers TPS more nowadays, FPS used to rule the whole action genre, but now, it seems that TPS' control way better, and the overall "feel" is better. According to ReTarDedFisHy, anyways :P

First Person Shooters. I like TPS's as well, but overall it's not better than it even though they have some good games.

I prefer TPS since you can view the area all around you, not just the character's view.

FPS is definitely more immersive. But when you want intense action, GoW shows that TPS is the way to go.

I like the third person perspective because it makes it a lot easier to appreciate the major bad-assery of the character.
See: Max Payne

This is actually quite a good point. It kind of helps the development of the character also, actually seeing them do the actions etc.

Its cool being able to see your character, but both genders can be great. It really just depends on how well done the game is, that said i tend to like FPS more than TPS

I play for FPSs only because they're more abundant, but I like TPSs equally.
