I don't really have much time anymore for a mmorpg, but I really liked it when I did have the time for one, but I don't right now. So, I want to look for a good online fps. I have a pc, that can play pretty much any online fps's. I also have a xbox 360, I rather play one for the pc, but a 360 will be good enough, I guess. Any suggestions? I don't want to play cs btw. One that can be competitive, while at the same time, casual?

Good fps for a casual gamer?
Halo 3 is a good choice -- You don't have to unlock perks or weapons and it's fairly easy to get into while maintaining that competitive gameplay
if you want one for the PC go with TF2, it does have unlockable weapons they aren't a necessity. (imo) TF2 doesn't have the competitive edge that Halo does, though.
"Isn't halo full of a bunch of little whining kids(from what I've read)? I don't mind that I guess, but I rather have a game that has a higher maturity level. Unless what I've read is wrong, if it is, I'd give it a try.Yeah, there is whiny kids that'll scream anything for that shock-factor... but you have to expect that from one of the most popular games on Live. You'll find kids like that in any game you play on any system. Mute is always an option.

How is tf2?

But its not very casual, but its awesome don't get me wrong

Unless what I've read is wrong, if it is, I'd give it a try. That factor has lessened quite a bit ever since the release of CoD4. But in the end, I'd give my vote for CoD4 simply because there seem to be more newbies there. The people that are sticking to Halo 3 are the people that are really good at it.

Halo would also be a good FPS for anyone, easy to jump in and play, everyone can get good at it so at least new comers aren't getting TOTALLY owned.
I would agree with the Orange Box. Or just get Team Fortress 2 separate from Steam if you just want the FPS.
Well, TF2 has already been mentioned, but it IS a good casual game. It's not as competitive as Counter-Strike, or anything like that, and it's more about having fun. There is a bit of a learning curve for it though, both in stuff like rocket jumping, using the pyro correctly and also the strategy stuff. If you're not an impatient 12 year old though, it shouldn't bother you at all. (if it does, there's a little thing called YOUTUBE TUTORIALS.)

Do they actually work?

If your the only man on the team alive, and the enemy wins there and then, prepare to take a ear full of blame.

Cant really compare this with CS, seeing as its not on Xbox.
Yeah, to some extent TF2 can be casual, but not in any longer term ways.
When Fat Princess comes out that will have to be by far the most casual shooter.. but its not FPS. :(
Perhaps a few of the classes in TF2 can be casual such as the heavy, soldier or pyro.
Then as you tend to skill up, try more hardcore classes such as demoman, spy or even a medic.
Iv written a review if your interested lol

You just gotta make sure the author is a reliable source, and the video's not a joke.(I don't know how people can even fall for fake tutorials. Hell yeah, spy is hardcore for sure. And shit, sorry for bringing up FP, I didn't know I was in the 360 board..
Most likely team fortress 2.Id stay away from games like Rainbow Six....of course the new ones dont even require that much thinking.
"Most likely team fortress 2.Id stay away from games like Rainbow Six....of course the new ones dont even require that much thinking."Yeah they aren't too tactical anymore, but people are damn good at that game, I'm elite took a month off started playing, and was pretty terrible.
"Halo is a great casual FPS real easy to jump in and play, Unreal tournament is pretty fun online is sorta tough. Stay away from Rainbow Six Vegas though, that game is brutal when starting out.People still play UTIII? Last i heard it was dead :o
"
There are servers out there just for noobs. Provided you know how to play fps games, it will take a few days to figure out how to play the game adequately. At least a month before you master it, though. I've been playing for about four-five months and only now can I say I know pretty much everything regarding the ins and outs of the game.

Kinda, yeah. On PC it is a bit, PS3 its average not too much.. But didn't it just come out on 360 recently? Shouldn't it be more booming..

I would fire it up and look, but a friends borrowing it.
The xbox one sounded kind of stripped in terms of character customization and custom content.

Have you seen the mdos on the PS3? They have like a 2D version of the game, Solid Snake, Master Chief, and many many more characters very well made to DL. It's rpetty sick.

Portal is probably the most accessible, although if you actually want a proper FPS then I'd have to say Halo 3, because it's the most accessible in my opinion.

Portal? Lmao, no where near casual, most people get mind bended like that.
