@SexyToad:

What are the cables you use in your normal room?

Isn't it from the resolution Sexy?

Try tinkering with it.

It makes me wonder if it has something to do with his TV in the living room and the resolution. I know that when I tried to move my Wii from one room to another the Wii (which was set up for component 480p) looked like scrambled porn through composite on the other TV. Maybe a similar situation is happening with Sexy's Xbox (side-note; is it weird that I think it's neat that we're calling him 'Sexy'?)?

Does the cable has a switcher? from SD to HDTV? If the cables are HDMI than I dunno...

Yeah, check this switch. I had a blank screen for half an hour before I figured out it was on SD when it should have been switched to HDTV.

Then I'm not sure. It might have something to do with your living room tv but I'm not sure.

I find the HDMI connection on my 360 to be very fiddly. I got a Denon surround receiver and it wouldn't even pick it up, so I had to bring the receiver back to the store and replace it with a Sony. I've also recently discovered that I get the infamous "red lines" problem when I try to get 1080P out of it.

Basically what I'm saying is, your fucked and you need some component video cables.

You should maybe lower the resolution the Xbox displays, and try it on the living room. The PS3, I know from experience doesn't deal well with different tvs and resolutions.

Sorry for calling you Sexy. i don't think you find it funny. ahah

If you're going through the HDMI then check the internal resolution on the 360. If that doesn't help then try switching to different HDMI inputs. If on your room you are getting 1080p but not on the living room TV then something could be wrong with the living room TV. Do you also use the HDMI on your room TV?

PS3 has a reset to deal with this(hold power button until second beep). Perhaps Xbox has a feature like this too? Some way to reset the video settings without being able to see the screen.

Reset the console display settings

If the display problem is still not resolved, reset the display settings of your console. Here's how:

  1. Remove any discs from the disc tray.
  2. Turn off the console.
  3. Turn on the console.

Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn on the console by using the Guide button on the controller. Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller will have the upper-left light illuminated.

  4. As the console starts, on the controller, press and hold Y while pulling the right trigger. The display settings are reset to the default settings, and then the console automatically restarts.
