It sometimes is ridiculously loud. It really can be a bother if I'm playing with the game volume low. I've gotten over it though.

If you are referring to the sound of the disc drive then you can relieve that noise by installing games to the HDD after NXE comes out on Wednesday.

Avoid putting it in an enclosed space. I personally haven't noticed any odd sounds out of the one here. Mind you, I rarely touch the thing, but I think I would have noticed an odd sound.

I may be alone in this, but I like the noises. It's like with a car, you want it to roar like a mean human-eating tiger. So it can bring fear to your enemies on xbox live.
