I think I'm one of the 360 owners with bad luck. I'm on my 3rd 360 right now. My other two died a painful death of RRoD. i don't recall if they found a cure yet. :(

The Xbox 360 is the second game console produced by Microsoft Corporation and is the successor to the original Xbox.
How many times has your 360 died?
just once..glad its over with. My new one seems solid, i've had it for like 7 months now so its all good.
I've had a few, all with different problems. My first one started locking up which eventually lead to the usual red ring hardware failure. I've had disc drives which can't read brand new game discs and I've just had to send off my current (4th) xbox 360 because the video output went all fuzzy red and green and then stopped working completely. Apparently (well, according to wikipedia) they've started doing this since mid 2007 and it's not covered by the 3 year warranty. Fortunately I've only had this particular console since October...
It's pretty bad but what can you do. At least all mine have been repaired/replaced completely free so far.
you know there's already a thread similar to this one with a lot of posts already in it...
but i don't want to be an a$$, so 2 of my 360's have "died"
"you know there's already a thread similar to this one with a lot of posts already in it...haha...Yeah right after I posted this topic I went back to browse the 360 forum and I saw the same topic. Sorry people. lol

I bought my first 360 in March of last year. I ended up selling that one for various stupid reasons, but I probably dodged a bullet--it was an older model that surely would have red ringed on me at some point. The 360 I bought early this year is the latest premium model, which should be fine ("should" being a very loose word here).
I've gone through 2 360s. One lasted1 year and died while playing Gears of War and the other lasted 2 months and died on Skate.
Back last summer my 360 got the red ring of death, I sent it off, got it back the day Bioshock was released, and within 24 hours of receiving my 360 back it died again, six hours into Bioshock.
My 360 died twice...I guess. It died, I attempted to fix it, it worked for around 20 minutes, then it died again. So now I got a new one
i am one of the lucky 360 owners i have had my system since day one of lauch and no red ring of death so far still i am always aware that one day it will happen
I'm expecting my first repair back tomorrow, was one of the elite versions with the 3 red rings hardware failure
I'm on my 4th 360 now. the first 360 didn't read any discs, and the 2nd and 3rd got RRoD. the first two I sent to MS and got them repaired for free, but the 3rd crashed when I was 2/3 through GTA IV so I just went to the store and bought a new one because I couldn't wait 2-3 weeks to finish the GTA IV story.
Only once. If yours has broken 3 times, it's probably your fault, no offense :P don't keep it on a shelf where it'll overheat easily, and try keeping it horizontally, to utilize those fans at the bottom.
Twice, I went through it once, the 2nd time they still fixed it but I didn't want to deal with it anymore and traded for a 80 GB PS3 on craigslist. My PS3 just stayed on for more than 40 hours without skipping a beat last weekend.
