Jasper Models, They said it's gonna be out this august, any news on it?.

And what is this "XBOX 540"(XBOX 360 Slim) that i've been hearing about. Is it just rumors?.

I also heard about XBOX 720 that is due on 2010. If I waited and buy the rumored slim, is a year of gaming worth it?.

i'd wait and get a jasper onein your shoes. besides if there is a "360 slim", it will probably be more expensive anyway.

I'm pretty sure all those things you mentioned are rumors.  The only one I would think has any truth to it is the chipset one.

I doubt a new xbox will be out in 2010 so I think you'd be safe buying a 360

Don't bother waiting to get a new console. It's almost as useless as waiting for the next apple computer  - Theres always one around the corner.

besides if you got a slim it would probably double your chances of rrod.

5 to 6 years would be one of the shortest console generations yet. The Xbox could manage to last until 2012 or 13 easily, especially if they came out with a redesign next year or '10.

Dude, whatever happens,  happens. I would have to guess if they were to make a 360 slim, they would call it something like that instead of 540 to avoid customer confusion. And as for the 720 or next xbox, who knows, it could be 2010, 2011, 2012, or they might now make another who knows, I think they will make another and I think at the absolute earliest it would come out in 2010, latest 2012, I think 2011 would be the best year for MS to release the 720.

I would GUESS that Microsoft will look to push the next generation as they did with the current generation. A five-year cycle (Nov. 2005 - 2010) isn't crazy talk.

I think the 5 year console cycle is fine. There's no need to play everything at the same resolution for the rest of our lives. I wanna see some of that creepy realistic shit that no one likes, but in every game. I want a 5 core processor and maybe 512+128 megs of RAM on my console. It's time for CHANGE. It's not like new consoles cost all that much on launch. Any 13 year old kid that doesn't spend his part time job money on booze and pot every weekend can save up for one in a month.

5 years? I don't know that's too short IMO, at LEAST 7 or 8 years really. I don't want to make an investment and dump a ton of money into a console and the games and whatnot, every 5 years. :("

I thought I heard 2011-2012 was going to be the new Xbox.

Current Consoles graphics are barely staying to level with pc, i think its a good time to release new ones ( 2011 ),
With that being said, id love to see my current xbox last abit longer then planned.
