So my Xbox 360 is starting to show it's age now. My Xbox shuts it's self off due to being too hot frequently now, even when it's not hot. Tomorrow I'm going to pick up a cooler for my Xbox 360. My question is which is the best one? I'm thinking about picking up THIS one. Is this one any good? My friend got the older model of this and he liked it.
Share your thoughts please. It would help a lot.

The best cooler for Xbox 360?
Nearly all of the reviews except maybe 1 or 2 say it's a terrible terrible product. So I wouldn't get it.
The whole concept of a cooler always baffled me. That's why there are fans constantly pumping out hot air. Just make sure it's in a well-ventilated area, and not crammed in an entertainment center or near a source of heat.
Trade it in for a slim?" Any last thoughts would be helpful. Going to check them out soon and see what I find. "
And if it Red Rings with a cooler, you're SOL.
If your 360 is turning off because it's hot, but it isn't actually hot, then would a cooler really do anything?
" If your 360 is turning off because it's hot, but it isn't actually hot, then would a cooler really do anything? "this is some good logic
The best cooler is leaving it in an open space, on it's side so that the bottom fan can work. Putting it in an enclosed or small space is a bad idea. Don't use an actual cooler, they're bogus.
If you're warranty is up you can always get new/better internal fans. I was able to use my old 360 for over a year after it gave me the RROD because of replacing the fans and doing the x-clamp fix.
I've never heard a good thing about the Nyko Interplayer coolers. Buy a laptop cooling pad instead. I've heard they work the best.
i don't understand the logic in getting one of those. why get a fan that is going to cover another fan? i wouldn't get one of those fans, i heard that they screw up your 360 even more.
if your warranty is expired then i suggestion you get a whisper fan. i have one in mine it is really great fan. you have to open up your xbox 360 and then swap out the two fans. they glow different color depending on which one you get. i have a regular one but there is also the turbo one. you have to do some work to get the button to work which makes the fan spin faster.
OP - I had the original version of the cooler you posted (the one you posted looks like a newer model). I can't speak for the newer model, but the older models were NOT GOOD. Yes, they kept your 360 cooler, but the place where they plug into the back of your 360 heats up to the point of charring your 360. The following isn't my picture, but it IS what the Nyko Intercooler did to my 360. Luckily I had read about it online and had caught it before any serious damage was done.
" @agentboolen: My Xbox is out of warranty and they will most likely charge me to fix it and unfortunately, I'm broke. "I'd call and find out anyway. Its better then spending money on a cooler. Who knows you might get surprised and find out the warranty is still in effect.
I use an 'underneath' style laptop cooler with my 360 - and it does seem to help keep it cooler during longer play sessions (like on a weekend where I'm likely to run it for 12hours+) without covering up any of the 360's native fans. It's powered via USB cable so you just plug it in the back and put your 360 on top of it. Ran me about $25 bucks.
