What's a good price to sell my 360 at?

#1 Posted by N3onThr33 (380 posts) -

Hey Giantbomb,

I'm looking to sell my Xbox 360, but I'm not sure what to price it at.
It has:

Jasper Arcade unit
20 gb HD
wired headset
factory wireless controller
wired madcatz controller
Wireless N adapter
17 games
plus a bunch of old Xbox original games.

What do you guys think would be a good price for it? $300?

For only the Xbox and it's accessories, $200 seems to be reasonable. But you're selling all those games along with it then? If they're mostly old and not worth that much, $300 seems alright. But if they're mostly new or only a year or two old, plus all the Xbox original games, I would sell it for a little higher value.

Okay, I was really thinking somewhere between $300 and $400. Thanks for the suggestion.

Depends on the games but at least $300

Depends on the games, but $300 seems about right.

Okay then, since we agree at between $300 to $350ish, what would be my best bet to sell it? Ebay? Craigslist?

Craigslist, no fees if you live in a decent populated area or are close to one.

personally i'd break it down like this. 120ish for the system. 50 for the N unit and the remainder of the cash for the games. Figure out the value of the games and set a price. If they are more recent games compared to old ones (also old sports games are worth NOTHING) put em at like 15-20 each. I'd say 350 to 375 for price. People are going to try to bring it down.

You should use Ebay. It has way more user than Craigslist.

Ask for $400 on Craigslist. The people interested may try to "haggle" for a lower price, resulting in the $350 you intentionally wanted. And by chance, there may be someone who would in fact buy it for $400. So either way, you win.

If you're not getting any offers then you should lower the price, obviously.

We gotta know what games, man.

@TheGreatGuero:
I have
Sneak King
Big Bumping
Pocketbike Racer
skate
Mirror's Edge
Frontlines Fuel of War
Oblivion
Viva Pinata
Lord of the Rings: Conquest
Ghost Recon
and a bunch of old sports games. suckish games, I know.

I still think you can get more than $300 for all that. Maybe aim for $350 or $400, and just drop the price if you have to.

@TheGreatGuero:
Yeah, what I'll do is list it at $400 on craigslist, then lower it to $350 if they want to haggle.

 Jasper Arcade unit- $80
20 gb HD -$25
wired headset-$5
factory wireless controller-$25
wired madcatz controller -$10
Wireless N adapter-$65
17 games-I don't know what games you have so I'm going to say maybe $100
plus a bunch of old Xbox original games.

=$330 is my estimate

Paperweight for sale!

I'd try to sell the games individually. Chances are, somebody wont want all 30 of your games.
I think for the console, controller and HD, you'd be lucky to get 200, considering theres old 120GB Elites still on the shelf for 250.

You might want to mention that it's covered by a warranty of some sort if thats possible...bought a second hand 360 before and it lasted about 3 months

I don't have much to say about selling it except don't break down and try to unload it at Gamestop. Since the 360-S came out the old models are now worth about $40 cash and the hard drive might get you $10. The games would be far far less. I tell almost everyone who comes in with a pile of stuff to try and sell it online or in the local bulletin board but they usually have had their will broken by it sitting around collecting dust.

Depending on the games, $300
