Anyways, does anyone (that lives in Europe) know the usual process of replacing your 360? Or does anyone (that lives anywhere) have any tricks etc. that provide temporary or even permanent solutions to the E73? I mean, I just need some help here is what I'm trying to say. This is just so sudden:(.

E73 like the RRoD? I didn't know they were the same. I fixed my 360 after it gave my the RRoD but I know nothing about the E73 error.

I think I've seen it before, in GameStop kiosks. Say what you will, but I find it to be a demonstration of great business ethics, given that they (probably) didn't replace it with a good one and sell the RROD'd one as "new" :P.

Well, I only see one ring. And the E73 obviously.

So you're saying you didn't see the E73 when you got the red rings?

E73 is not the same as RRoD, RRoD is a hardware failure.
RRoD is covered by a 3 year warranty, I don't know if E73 is covered though.

Looks to me like your 360 has poor ventilation in that little hole. When you get it fixed you should have it in the open.

The store i bought it from just traded me a Ps3 (they were out of 360) i am not sure that a lot of stores do that... I had to wait for almost a whole year before they made that decision meanwhile they were "trying"  to fix it.

E73 also has a warranty because of the big news stories about it a while ago on Kotaku/Joystiq.

Sorry cant help ya. When i bought my xbox the first time i had to take it back two times in the same day. Lets just say the 3rd time i went i was pissed off beyond words becase it was an hour drive each way to the closest city to buy it. And this was back when gas was $1.70 a liter! First one just totaly didnt turn on, took it back they told me it was a new one but it turned out to be a broken one some one put in the wrong box. Then finaly the 3rd time i got it home and it has worked ever since with no problems.*knocks on wood* Thats was 2-3 years ago. I havent turned it on in 6 or so months so for all i know it could be broken ^_^

E73 is a problem with your ethernet.. Also if you have one of those fans on the back of the 360, take it off and put it back on and it might work again. Also I got an E73 error before and I unplugged the console and plugged it back in and it worked again.

Did that. Didn't work, and I use a wireless router so what would I do in that case?

This popped up out of nowhere with remarkable speed, just as the RRoD problems started to die down. Conspiracy theorists wanna expand on what i'm insinuating here?

Well, in the words of a conspiracy theorist (which I try not to be) are you saying that:

*hypothetical, I'm not saying this in a serious tone*

Microsoft purposely rigged 360's to randomly fail with the RROD, fixed that problem mostly, and then began rigging more 360's to fail with the E73 system error just as the RROD started to die down so that they could cash in?

The first time my 360 died on me it had an E 73 error, the warranty didn't cover that error so I had to pay to fix it, I think what gave it that was that it had a faulty disc-drive and something else, I don't quite remember what... But yeah, I think that usually you have to pay about 70 to 80 euros to get that repaired, well that's what I had to do...Yeah mine was a disc-drive  and soemthing else... anyways umm doesn't help much, but just call Microsoft; I think I had to get it sent to Germany.

I live in Germany, but I'm not aware of places around that do repairs. I'll need to look into that.

    Thanks.

BTW, the E73 error is not even mentioned on Xbox.com. Just E74, E67, E68, and E69.  So I'm not sure what Xbox support could do for me, but I'll definitely contact them.

I don't know what planet(s) all those other posters have been living on, but the E73 ERROR was included in the three year warranty extension, just like RROD, some time ago.

Your absolutely right, my bad. I Binged it, and it said it was something to do with the ether-net port. Good 'ole 360; like a bad marriage it's a laugh-a-minute.

It can be any form of hardware issue, test it with the hard drive taken out, and turn it on then, take out a memory unit and try it then, unplug the ethernet and try it then, so on and so forth, if it's anything with the internal hardware I believe it's covered by the warrenty, but don't quote me on that. However, if its the hard drive or memory unit, then you need to replace it.

Of course, ms support can help you better, but your best bet is probably them if its not to do with your hard drive or memory unit, since it can be otherwise tough to isolate what part failed POST.
