Im new to the xbox 360 scene and haven't gotten any good games YET...  but before going out and buy all the good games, you know and then not being able to play them, I wanna ask you giantbombers if a Xbox360 HD-Drive is required to play all the latest good AAA-games.
    Thanks.

The hard drive is not mandatory to play any games.  All game saves are able to fit on those 360 memory units.  Also, when MS releases to update to allow for saving onto the USB drive (16GB max space, can plug up to two drives), you will also be able to download all XBLA games out right now.  Currently, some of the bigger XBLA games (e.g. Shadow Complex) cannot fit onto the official MS 360 memory units.

Not necessary but if you can you should really get your hands on one, even if its only a 20gig. Just makes you life easier.

The HD-DVD player?  No, do not buy that, it's a worthless piece of garbage.

I agree. If they made games for the HD DVD hard drive it would state that on the case of the game.
