Halo 3. Why? Well, it was just bleh and meh. Too short and too "so everything leading up to this point iss..?" I mean, its a perfect moneymaking game. Nothing is resolved and no ending. Its like a fat cow, they will milk Halo for every single dime, penny and cents!
I see what you are saying, but its not broken. There are parts of PD were you cant see what you are doing. It stops being a FPS and ends up being a migrain inducing memory test . I mean the story has no conclusion in Halo true but the game works, you can play it.
Unreal Tournament 3....I mean come on, the campaign was a monotonous bore. The multiplayer was alright, but nothing that held my attention, just a polished up version of lighting slayer with high powered weapons. :( I had it a week and traded it in.

Guitar Hero 3 for sure. Rock Band revitalized what Harmonix began with Guitar Hero, but Guitar Hero 3 was just too much imitation and not enough innovation.

Well several of the guys in my union purchased the game so i did as well, for the multiplayer focus. However, after a few gamenights, I believe we all agreed the entertainment value was little to none. A complete waste of my 60 bucks, which by the way I only got 35 bucks for at gamestop.....damn shame if you ask me. Damn you gamestop...damn you!!

The production values were through the roof, but the game lacks any good gameplay mechanics. I would give it a 7/10 on GS' scale, gave it a 3 stars on GB. Once you get over the hype you realize just how shallow and lackluster it is.

Lackluster is quite appropriate and I completely agree....
are we using gamespot's ratings, cause it's not a 9/10 on gamerankings and giantbomb doesn't have a review. I'd say it's a solid 8/10.
But in general, I don't really know of that many. I'd say Bioshock, GTA 4, and SMG deserve lower than they got in general but they're still great games. Bioshock's biggest fault is that it's too short. I'd say they're all 8/10s. And then Eternal Sonata ranked higher than Blue Dragon and is tied with Lost Odyssey, I don't understand that. Blue Dragon's a 9.0 and Lost Odyssey more of a 9.3. ES is a 8.0.
But ratings don't matter. After I get the game it doesn't affect me at all.
In general though I find that JRPGs, especially turn based ones not named FF (love FF, but I realize that it's not the only way to do one) are rated way lower than they should be.
Besides the popular ones though that I said should be rated lower, no one has probably played these games here, so people will just be riding popular opinion.
GTAIV. Seriously, I would rather give Halo 3 the mass 10's beforethat, and I thoguht Halo 3 was highly over-rated as well. GTA4 was short, easy, glitchy, and repeatitive. These are all problems games get kicked in the ass for, yet GTA4 lived on and got the 10.

I agree in a way.
I think that GH: World Tour is the imitation of Rock Band(yes it hasn't been released yet). GH3 did not have any innovation, but a new graphics engine. I wouldn't call GH3 an imitation of Rock Band, since Rock Band uses 3 different instruments and the emphasis of cooperation is always in Rock Band, while GH3 emphasizes playing separately(that includes the co-op career IMO).
I don't like Bioshlock, Halo 3 or GTA 4, all for pretty much the same reason.
I was bored out of my asshole immediately in the first two, and after 30 hours and realizing GTA 4 wasn't going to get any better I put it away forever.
I sometimes wonder what the hell is wrong with game reviewers that they buy into the bullshit so easily, even after playing the game.

I'll also add - No More Heroes...that game was terrible. Mass Effect...Maybe i made the mistake of exploring the none story related planets first to find a repetitive game there...after which, into the story, the game was just too easy.
Halo 3 i can only dismiss in retrospect. Though i enjoyed playing the campaign at the time, if i knew then what i know now - that i'd never touch the game again - i would have held out for a more enjoyable multiplayer game.

Yeah, you still have to remember that not only was it their first PS3 title, but it was their first game in the franchise, ie new IP. And for THAT, I think it's an amazing feat, especially because its still an amazing game in general.
When did Jak 1 or even Jak 2 come out? 2002 or something? Uncharted is one of the best new franchises of this gen IMO.

Meh, I'm an ND fanboy (to the point, the second Jak 4 is confirmed with a teaser trailer I am literally running to gamestop and buying a PS3), and I didn't eve nsee the mass appeal. It looked repeatitive and really over rated. ND is a franchise thta has no problems with new IP's, look at the original J&D and Crash Bandicoot. Both great games done successfully. Jak1 took the best things from Banjo, Halo (before you shoot me I mean the checkpoint system), and the mind of Evan Wells and Bob Rafei and pulled it off godly. It seemed with this they just wanted to make their own version of Indiana Jones with a Mass Effect shooting system (that was highly overdone at the last hour or so) and Lara Croft platforming. I don't make excuses for a great dev team just to make the game better, then we'd all be praising LP and Condemned like god baked them with his latest batch of cookies, the game is what it is.

SADLY I don't think they will be making a Jak 4, but instead Uncharted 2. :( Not that it's a bad thing but I totally wanna see J&D in hi-def and back. Their next project will be unveiled very shortly, so probably this year... since there are only two big events left, TGS and Leipzig, its very likely that it will be announced at Liepzig... I hope its Jak 4 but its most likely not going to be. But dude even without Jak 4 I dont know why the hell you wouldn't buy PS3. O_O By the first day of 09, you should have one. :P

Lol, I refuse to buy a PS3 til Jak 4 is announced >_> Just because I'm stubborn like that. I want to try Killzone 2, R2, and a few others as well. But really, I don't feel like buying a PS3 just yet. I know it will have a lot of exclsuives, I'm just waiting for them to come out first. The wait and lack of mgs4 spoilers are killing me slowly >_> BTW, Jak 4 is no where near immpossible. Evna Wells said he wants to bring Jak into the nextgen universe during that time when fans got to poke his brain with question sticks.
You're sure going to be missing out on a ton later this year, and especially next year. And yeah I know Jak 4 isn't impossible, but in the most recent interview it looks like its going to be Uncharted 2;
